Thanks for that, Sam. I notice that our home made video of the Portsmouth penalty shoot-out is getting good viewing figures thanks I suspect to Portsmouth fans.
Now onto the Fleetwood video: I see that Sullivan and Benyon show what can be done if strikers work together. Sullivan, our only bright spark against Portsmouth when he came on, does a lovely lay-off for Benyon who we know can finish. I'd love to see more of that combination and even a bit of Yeoman. Remember a Benyon and Yeoman combination against Bristol Rovers in our last match last season produced 3 goals. You can probably gather by now that I have been totally underwhelmed by the Ball/Hawley combination thus far and they have been given enough chances, in my opinion. Give me Benyon/Sullivan/Yeoman any day. There's so much more movement and hunger and they all can finish. I still think Hawley can do a job but I don't see much point in keeping our loanee Ball. For a big, tall man he is so poor when it comes to his physical prescence and heading ability. Let him learn his trade elsewhere, please.
As for Ricey, yes he has come on leaps and bounds and has clearly saved us from more embarrassing scorelines this season. However he still is clearly suspect from crosses and tends to stay on his line. I see for Fleetwood's first from a corner, just like against Oxford the other week, Ricey is beaten from a cross in his own 6 yard box. He badly mis-judged the cross for their third as well. But don't get me wrong on the whole his performances have been very good and he's one of our very few positives so far this season. If only he could get better at crosses particularly from corners...

A poster elsewhere is adamant that our new squad number 23 is Damien Mozika, who has been with us for some time regaining fitness. Alongside Harding, one of our biggest problems will be solved, I reckon.

Yep, he seems pretty confident, definitely the type of player we need although will need time to get up to speed after injury if confirmed. Interesting midfield line up....

There was a two-page feature in Saturday's programme about Brian Wilson who spent a fair chunk of the 1980s at Plainmoor. After leaving Torquay he moved back to the Blackpool area and eventually ended up as Fleetwood's manager during the late 1990s. During this time Fleetwood won the second division of the North West Counties League and Brian Wilson even made a one-off emergency appearance for the club at the age of forty-one.
With respect to Fleetwood's history, Brian Wilson's involvement came just after the club had been re-formed (again) this time as Fleetwood Freeport. This is the club that plays today. I think anyway. It's complicated.

The result of knill's summer French sojourn! Don't know much about the lad apart from him being previously very highly rated and having some serious injury problems. They're certainly waxing lyrical about him on the other forum! Anybody here have any informed views about him? Could he be the answer to our midfield problem?

Played for Bury against us home and away in the 2010/2011 season! The first match was at Plainmoor where they won 3-4 on 16th October and we then returned the compliment with a 1-2 away win which from reports was one of our best performances of the season.
