If the weather holds off which it looks likely it will, then we entertain Bideford this Tuesday: Details HereI would imagine that Knill will run out a team of professionals that haven't been playing lately with some youth teamers making up the gaps elsewhere. He has already talked about Morris getting a game so that he can build up his match fitness following injury. This could include Lathrope partnering Morris, Cruise and Leadbitter in the full back positions, Stevens and Thompson on the wings and Rice in goal so could be quite a strong line up, particularly with it being pay on the gate for home fans....

We should have let Buckland beat us again, then we would not have needed to worry about having to play this game when we are fighting for our survival in the league. This cup lost so much appeal for me when it changed from just the three main Devon teams playing in it.
How many first teamers do we need to have in the side? I suppose the game give some much needed match time for our fringe players and who knows we might well need them in the first team before this season is done.
Still, staying up and getting at least one cup will seem a very successful season from the one we all feared a few weeks ago.

I'm pretty sure that we don't have to play any, having seen who turned out against Buckland in recent years. To some extent, it is a good thing as fringe players or those returning from injury get a competitive-ish run out to try to get up to speed.

I'm really looking forward to being able to ENJOY a football match without getting incredibly stressed.
We've got TWENTY-NINE (still twenty-six if you take out the three out on loan) pros on the books, so we should be able to field a decent eleven without risking anyone who might be a starter on Friday.
It will be interesting to see if Craig is in the team and if, as I expect, Downes partners Hutchings at the back.
