We dont normally see Chelston rise that quickly but boy what a great protector he was--and it took his mind off the war chest for a while ;D ;D
Cheers Longey, forgot about the Warchest although the it is a probably a myth...although money came in for Bobby, O'Kane, Robbo and Ellis and has been spent on.....£20K for Billy (this will be money well spent) and........?
I'm thinking of starting a Paignton thread which will surpass all previous thread/posts and run longer than the Mousetrap.
Looking forward to this Paignton thread Phil!! I spent 12 happy years in the Hayes Road area (and in/out the Devonport!!)
Research indicates Wildebeeste's film is "Four Lions". I must seek out Sheffield's steepest street as featured in the film. There'll be plenty of competition because parts of the city make Torquay look the Netherlands.
But could Sheffield's steepest fend off the challenge from Paignton?
Right, back to the original thread and a few images - for those who cherish such things - of industrial dereliction on the road to Hillsborough. Head up the A61 from town and over to the right, in the lee of the big hill with the ski slope, are the areas of Parkwood Springs and Neepsend: tanneries, gas works, rolling mills and engine sheds.
Here's a few pictures taken last week. Paignton eat your heart out.
