Is that in the same way I was not able to reply to a thread suggesting I jump off Berryhead with a picture of a hurst on it that I wad meant to be inside Bloody hell, Dave, surely not Geoff Hurst? I didn't know you were old enough to remember 1966. Trivia quiz. Geoff Hurst played for West Ham. Dagenham is near West Ham. What links Dagenham and Berry Head?

Dagenham is near West Ham. What links Dagenham and Berry Head? Unwanted Ford Escorts?

Buggleskelly Wednesday? Was Will Hay involved by any chance? Oh, Mr Porter!
Off to play Finn Harps in Ballybofey?
And, before you ask, no I haven't, but I've passed the ground.
The best I can offer in those parts is a pre-season friendly between Sligo Rovers and Torquay United.
And, Ireland v Somerset just outside Derry. I declined lunch in the Orange Hall.

I don’t think that will work, Phil grew up in a house about five away from the one I live in now and have done for the the last twenty years or so. As you are new to the TFF you will not be aware that we once had a member now living in London who slagged of Torbay and especially the people who lived here at every opportunity. The same person who stood in front of the chairman of our club and told him how much he loved the place and would move back if he could have afforded too. We live here because we love the place, its not perfect but where is? There are good and bad people here and that is the same where ever we choose to live. I hope we do not return on here to the days when the members on the TFF ended up being divided based on where they lived. We are after all on here because we are fans of Torquay United and that is the something that should unite us. I was being flippant and silly, Dave (hence also the "Mansfield are shite" comment.) Still, a nerve was clearly touched and I have learned my lesson. I apologise to all who come from and love Paignton, which might well have an unattractive town centre and possess a street that smells of lard but also has at least one really nice park and a grand sea front as well. Shiphay, though. That's summat else entirely.......... Well that livened things up for a while Wildebeeste!!! We dont normally see Chelston rise that quickly but boy what a great protector he was--and it took his mind off the war chest for a while ;D ;D

He's still simmering, I reckon. Still, at least the exceptionally well-informed Barton Downs has come up with the goods again. Oh Mr Porter! is the right answer to the quiz question.

I'm thinking of starting a Paignton thread which will surpass all previous thread/posts and run longer than the Mousetrap.

Aye, Wildebeeste, what you may take to be one of those ancient Derbyshire pagan festivals rollocking around the streets of ancient Chesterfield will be a man from Chelston outside your door with a flaming torch.

Lovely pic of the train there, Chelston. Brings back happy memories - always used to adorn the timetables

Just as well I'm flitting from Chesterfield then. I shan't be leaving a forwarding address, just in case the Beast of Paignton via Chelston should come looking for me.

Not sure if you need a mousetrap, Chelston, when you've got the Street of Lard. That will have the little buggers rolling around in agony with their guts exploding.
But I'm being unfair. I'm sure a Paignton thread will be immensely popular and I'll happily contribute.
Gosh, I never knew about that old monastery place until a year or two back. And who needs to see Sugarloaf in Rio when you've only got to go to Three Beaches? And it's just a shame that, as it was premiered in Paignton, Gilbert and Sullivan didn't have a rethink and come up with Pirates of Paignton Pier.
It's the Shiphay thread that I would be fearful of not working. What could you possibly say?
Except that Cadewell Park Road is extremely nice?
Ah yes, the Dumpling.
I'm sure it would be to Wildebeeste's liking. Do they do vegetarians there?

Chelston is always ahead of the game, Wildebeeste.
Just watch your step in Meersbrook Park.
Oh shit......

Love the train picture, Chelston! You can see Torquay but absolutely no sign of Paignton.
