As you all know I don't do politics as its not something that really interests me and most of it goes right over my head. So I'm hoping this thread does not turn into a political one and instead it might come up with some good answers to the threads title.
Today I listened to parts of our prime minister's closing speech that I'm sure most of you have also heard. Yes we went on about who was to blame for all the mess this country was in, but I'm not asking here where you think the blame might lie, only what is the best way forward for our country.
The way he went on it does seem we the working poor might be in for even a tougher ride then we are getting now and that does worry me somewhat.
We are blessed on the TFF to have a good number of very bright, clever and well educated members and I would love to hear your views on this subject. As might be expected on the debate I listened to such remarks were made that we are too open as a country, let too many in who claim this and that and pay out to much to those who do not want to work for a living.
I'm not sure that really is the problem and is in no way the real reason we are in such a mess, but I also have no idea how we get out of it. the way I look at it we can't keep spending what we do not have and can't get getting deeper into debt. But then when I hear that we need to spend to encourage growth, that seems to make sense as well.
So if you were the leader of this country, what measures would you take to try and get our country great again.
