Just shading possession but leading 12-3 on shots, 8-1 on target and 6-0 on corners!

Should have been a bit easier but a win is a win!
Once again, we have played the wombles at the right time!

A win's a win indeed. First away win since March. Needed that one. Sounds like it was primarily down to Bodin having a much better game - ran them absolutely ragged and could've had 4 or 5
We've conquered that first problem - creating chances. Next target is to put more of them away

You can only beat the team in front of you and yes it seems it was the right time for us to play Wimbledon. Despite Saturdays result, we have only lost one game this season and tonight's win just might be the start of a nice winning run.
Well done lads.

As ML said, he would prefer win one, lose one 3 points rather than draw 2, 2 points

Entertaining game, good performance, poor opposition. We could have won by more. Oh, for that when we came here in April!
Good tactical change moving Craig out left and pairing Easton with Mansell. That could work in the longer-term hopefully. Easton was steady - which is what we need - Craig impressive. Nice typically Manse performance offered plenty of support.
Defence sound - Oastler again looking good. Morris turned in a good shift; one for his critics to note. Bodin occasionally over-played but plenty of quality in his performance. Also another promising quarter hour from Thompson including some good crosses and a fine shot. Rene was irrepressible. Better games from Nicholson and Downes than Saturday. Meanwhile Brian Saah just gets on with it in his quiet fashion.
So happy with that. You would hope it's an indicator that we'd better than a fair chunk of this league. But, yes, Wimbledon were poor. Desperately so at times. They may struggle. Managerial change rumoured.
Around 250 Torquay supporters present. And much credit to the turnstile operator who sought sought us out in the seated area to give us better tickets than the ones we'd originally been sold. An excellent touch.

Great result and thoroughly deserved by he sounds of it. Not scoring enough on chances but hey we have the second best defensive record in the division and that really is something we can build on.

Thanks for your thoughts Barts! Yep, plenty of rumours that their manager is going / has gone! Won't be the first time that losing to little old Torquay has been the Coup de Grace for a managerial career!

Early days yet but we made the observation about Niall Thompson tonight and how he has surpassed Saul Halpin and Ashley Yeoman in a flash. Not in the same position as Yeoman. maybe, but ahead of him when it comes to naming eighteen players.
Indeed, is Thompson ahead of Macklin now?

Indeed, is Thompson ahead of Macklin now? Hard to say. Both had very good pre-seasons but I think Macklin edged it then. However, it does mean that we have a lot of pace out wide, something we lacked last year.

I would say he is ahead of Macklin as straight from the off he's looked up for it, confident and ready to grab his opportunity. Can't say that of Macklin and were now in year 3, a little unfortunate with his injury this year after a promising start but you make your own luck.
You would have thought Thomspon's arrival on the scene should put both a a little bit of urgency in his peers application and give real hope for both those coming through and great marketing for our youth scheme. 'Come to Torquay and you'll have a real chance of 1st team opportunities'
Halpin, Macklin, Yeoman et al must be thinking 'yikes' we'd better put a shift in , there are only so many contracts to be handed out.

Can anyone confirm how we set ourselves out for this game?
The radio seemed to say that Craig played wide left. That made me assume that Bodin was wide right and Morris stayed in the central role he has occupied so far this season.
The way the lineup is laid out on the official site seems to imply that Craig took the central role Morris has been playing, Morris played wide right and Bodin wide left.
Or did Bodin have a more central role with Morris on the right and Craig in the left of a 4-4-2 or a 4-4-1-1?
Or did we play total football with everyone turning up all over the place?
Or am I the only one who cares about these things?
