I went to Polperro and Looe today for a very good reason and I will do a thread about that soon. On my way from Polperro to Looe, I happened to spot a local game of football taking place.
For those of you who know the area, when you leave Looe heading for Polperro you go up a hill for some distance. At the top the road then goes around to the right and this ground must be about half a mile further on.
I drove into the ground where there was parking behind one of the goals and out I got camera in hand to grab a few shots. I have checked the website for Pelynt FC and have learned they were a founder member of the Dutchy League in Cornwall.
They have two teams with the first team playing in the first division and on their site they say their second team plays in the forth division. I think that information as far as the second team is concerned is out of date.
I believe that as when I asked someone there who was playing they told me it was Pelynt playing the Duke Of Cornwall. Checking the league tables for the Duchy league I see Pelynt seconds and the Duke Of Cornwall team are both in division five. So it must have been the seconds who were playing at home today.
I was not able to spend much time watching the match so have no idea who won the game.
