After a tough away game yesterday, our first home game in the league doesn't get any easier with our play off rivals coming to town. Although they won both of these games, surely we are due to convert some of those chances that we created. Cheltenham have kept most of their side from the last campaign and the teams will know each other well. In fact, of the new strikers they have brought in, a certain Chris Zebroski is somewhat familiar as well! He plays up front with Harrad, another dangerman to look out for. However, our bogeyman is on the wing, McGlashan who once again scored in their 2-0 home victory yesterday. A big difference from the play offs is that we have a fit and slimmed down Rene Howe and I suspect he will put their defence under some pressure. The trick is getting more support up to him and I feel at home and despite their wing threat, an out and out winger should be played with either Danny (if fit) or Macklin to start on the opposite wing to Bodin. It should be a good quality game and like Shrewsbury did last year against us, hopefully we can gain a measure of revenge for our premature play off exit!

A tough match indeed Rob - if I have any worries it would be about our lack of fire power and back up CB.

A tough match indeed Rob - if I have any worries it would be about our lack of fire power and back up CB. Very hard to cover all bases Phil with Cruise and McKenzie largely untested at CB but suspect they will get a go at some point. Presently, despite losing Ellis and Robertson this year, the central defence is looking as good as it has ever been and is a big plus. If the central midfield can get hold of a match then a front three of Stevens/Macklin, Howe and Bodin are going to be a big goal threat at this level.

Preview up on bbc now. Mohammand is out for this one which I think means that Zebs will be on the left wing (I think he is beter there! ). Defender Alan Bennet is out as well. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19252307

I think the answer will be to get Zebs on a yellow card as soon as possible...not hard to do as I recall

Team: Poke, Oastler, Saah, Downes, Nicholson, Mansell, Lathrope, Morris, Macklin, Howe, Bodin
Subs: Rice, Leadbitter, Mackenzie, Cruise, Easton, Thompson, Jarvis
Sounds more positive than Saturday. Macklin's chance to show he can reproduce his PSF form this time

Cant help thinking the midfield is going to find themselves up against it tonight and im not confident they will prevail. Time to wander up to the ground for (hopefully!!) an entertaining match with a hard fought win.

Lloyd Macklin starts In for Cruise. Positive but will it cost us? Time to show us what you can really do. Tough match against one of last season better sides.

Has anybody heard the attendance?
2.517 a very disappointing gate for the first home game of the season and the chance to sit in the new stand for the first time!

So, a point in a difficult game. Would have taken that before but in the circumstances it's disappointing, along with potential injuries

You always hope to win every game but reckon I might well have take the draw before the start. Cheltenham are a strong outfit and one of the favourites to be challenging at the top along with Southend who are experiencing an awful start to their campaign. Very early days and already concern with injuries after so few last season. Unlucky for Macklin but sounds like he's made some new friends tonight so well done Lloyd. We do have Danny hopefully coming back on Saturday and young Thomson also as cover its not all bad news.
