Graham Horn was Torquay's goalkeeper for the 1982/83 season when he played every game in a team which finished 12th in Division Four and reached the fourth round of the FA Cup. As we recorded recently he also played once, in a emergency, during the following season.
Graham Horn replaced Vince O'Keefe who was sold to Blackburn in the summer of 1982. Horn, in turn, stepped aside when John Turner returned to the club the following year.
I wasn't living locally at the time so my memory is hazy but, checking information online, it appears we sold O'Keefe just a week or two before the start of the season. This suggests Graham Horn may have signed for Torquay in something of a hurry. If that was the case how ironic that he spent the rest of his life in South Devon.

Sad to hear this. When I was a little tacker I was playing football in the park with my friends when Graham turned up and happily went in goal for us little lads to have a go at beating him. Made a big impression on a 12 year old lad for a professional to spare the time. RIP Graham.

Oh, this is very sad news. The last time I saw him was a couple of years ago when I was in the cab he drove. His daughter is married to an old school friend of mine. Really sorry to hear this news.

Hello I am the daughter of Graham horn and would just like to say thank you for all the kind words and memories that you have of him. It has only been two weeks since I lost him but feel comforted at the thoughts of the good times he shared. Will hopefully be at a match soon x

Sad to have seen this news, Graham Horn would have been the keeper when I went to my first match - which I believe was Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup in 1983 as a youngster. That was an incredible first match.
Glad to see that the club are going to organise a tribute early next season so supporters can play their respects.

Did anyone else see Graham on The Big Match Revisited yesterday?
Having a good game playing for Luton Town beating Newcastle United 1-0 in the old first division on the 8th of February 1975.
Got in where it hurts and ended up with a nasty cut to his nose, carried on playing but had to have seven stiches put in after the game.
Have tried to find a clip on You Tube but can only find Ron Futcher scoring the goal.
