My soon-to-be-discared Doidge's Year Book 1953 had a short section about politics. Here's details of two local MPs. Men you'll notice of impeccable pedigree: And here's the results for the first three General Elections after the war. Note that Labour was ahead of the Liberals in those days. Totnes would have included Newton Abbot. Great to see E.Tapscott flying the red flag in Totnes in 1950:
