blackpool opens a new music arena and torquay might get a big wheel, haha, bet there are lots of objections, blackpool love it or hate it is geared to intice families, whilst torquay is dying a slow painful tourism death.

I've long said that Torquay should be a music arena, it'd be a decent long in the arm for the local economy considering it's only competition south of Bristol would be the Pavilions and there's plenty of accomodation down here for people travelling from other Devon/Cornwall/Somerset towns. If they managed to get one of the big live events companies like LiveNation or the Academy chain to run it, it'd probably have events every three or four days.
Of course the local council being full of people who can still remember the war are so out of touch the idea has never crossed their mind.
