97 minutes and 12 seconds the game played for with the sickening equalizer beings scored in the 93rd minute. I was not at the game as I simply can’t afford to go these days and felt I could not listen on the radio due to how the game might just turn out. There was I with 90 minutes on the clock jumping into the bath I had run 15 minutes earlier, thinking what a great day football wise this has turned out to be.
Who would have believed Hereford would beat Crawley at their ground by three goals to nil, yes I jumped into that bath both proud and happy we had things back under our own control, well that was until I got out the bloody bath and found we had let a very late goal in.
Will be interested to hear the views on the goal as it said on the BBC site it was a low shot at the centre of the goal, could our keeper not get down in time? Don’t know but he did save Mark Ellis who would have never forgiven himself if the spot kick had not been saved.
Its still not over but you would be forgiven for thinking this was our last chance and its one we have blown. We never have and maybe never will do things the easy way and until the final whistle next week, we and the players need to keep believing and keep the faith.
We still have a chance to go up even if things do not go our way next weekend, our season is not over yet and while today has hurt so much, I still believe the fans sitting in the new stand next season will be watching first division football from it.

The awful thing from this is that it's not like we can even rest players next week. This is probably the worst possible scenario - Hereford still being alive and us needing to win hoping Crawley don't at a team that got thrashed today. It would have been much easier and better had it been finished off this week. It would take an enormous amount of luck that we don't deserve to go up next week

That was probably the best we have played at Plainmoor since the New Year. We pressured them no end and their passing became ragged and they started making mistakes. We looked much the better team for all but the last 5 minutes when they threw caution to the wind and piled forward. Galling to concede in injury time but you cant fault the team for their performance today. Play like that against Hereford and Crawley will have to win aginst Accy who are never a soft touch at home. Its not over yet

No, but throwing away yet more points in stoppage time (regardless of the performance in the previous 90 minutes) while Crawley drop points doesn't need it. And we've let Southend back into this

We ill see whether we deserve to go up or not by this time next week. Why the defeatist attitude James? were all frustrated but none more so than the players and I can vouch for that from their reaction. We were truly back to our best today totally committed and playing the high pressing game that has brought us to where we are now. Make no mistake Crewe are a very accomplished footballing side and this was a big test which we very nearly passed. Its all stilll on the last game, we always do it this way don't we? Superb team effort, still with two routes remaining to get promoted and unfortunate not to win but hey that's football and we have so much to be positive about .

With 4 matches without a win, why should anyone expect that to change in what will be a tougher game than all of those we've had in those previous 4? Anyone who expects us to go up is blindly optimistic, verging on deluded. Nothing wrong with hoping we will go up but you can't expect us to win and Crawley to not win with the games that both teams have. Even if we win, that's 6 points from the last 5 games - that isn't good enough for promotion. Performances are irrelevant because you don't get points for them We're not so much "doing it the hard way" as "not doing it at all"

Is today's Crewe goal the latest goal we've let in all season?
Best team performance for a long, long time - including another penalty save.

I hope trust you're not going next week then James? Yeah, I'll be there, though I'm not expecting much. Been up there a few times - don't think I've seen us win there At the end of the day, I've been optimistic all season, far more so than most people here. But when the game is up, the game is up The Crawley fans were celebrating the Crewe goal today. While the defeat will have been a big blow them morale-wise, and would have been a real momentum shift had we won, the late equaliser will have shifted it back their way

That was desperately disappointing and very harsh on the Gulls today. With 4 minutes of added time in the second half and Torquay winning 1-0 we were in touching distance of being firm favourites of auto-promotion. Gulls fans were in dreamland with Crawley losing 3-0. We just needed to hang on for the last whistle. Home fans were in buoyant mood and preparing for celebration, or so we thought. 4 minutes of added time seemed rather harsh. Over 3 minutes of added time had been played when Crewe unbelievably equalised from a crisp, low shot. Crewe fans erupted and the rest of Plainmoor was in stunned silence. The drama was still not over. Torquay had one more chance from a Nicholson long throw to loft into the box. Over came the ball, there was an almighty scramble in the six yard box and the ball was finally put in the net. The result - disallowed goal. The final whistle blew and our promotion hopes had suffered a late, late cruel twist. Suddenly Crawley had a life-line and THEY are favourites again to go up. Crowd 3,802, sponsors MOTM Olejnik for his penalty saving heriocs! I thought Torquay looked fresher today, it probably has helped having not to play mid-week games. In form Crewe looked dangerous at times and Olejnik reacted brilliantly to keep out a close range shot at the far post. Torquay had their moments and 0-0 at half-time was probably a fair score-line. Torquay needed to up their game in the second half and with the swirling wind in their favour, they did just that. There was some good sustained pressure. Morris had a shot that rebounded off their keeper's face, and Mansell just failed to get the rebound. On 53 minutes a Nicholson cross was cleared out to Stevens. From just outside the area, Stevens hit a beauty low into the corner of the net! Torquay kept on top but Crewe won a penalty when Ellis fouled their runner in the box. Olejnik brillantly dived to the right and saved the spot kick as Plainmoor erupted. As news was filtering through about Crawley's mis-hap, Torquay desperately needed to win to take control of the promotion picture. A Crewe hreader hit the crossbar but Torquay had chances to wrap the game up. Howe went close and there were some other decent effort. I thought Torquay had done enough to deserve the win but it was cruelly denied in the end. The players still had a wonderful ovation at the end but we were so, so close to real glory. I felt genuinely sad as I left the ground as what it might have been. But on reflection these are great times for the Gulls, we're more used to trying to stay in the league over the years. Hereford can have that "pleasure" next week. We've still managed to win a point over Crawley today and it's going to be very interesting at Hereford next week. I'll be there!

absolutely gutted,we worked so hard to get in front, and played very well til the dying minutes when we invited crewe too attack,a very dangerous ploy indeed, sadly we paid the price, its a habit we have had all season, with lots of success, but recently punished at oxford for,and now today. All to play for next albeit out of our hands now, hereford will not be easy, hammered crawley today. We always knew it would come to this,i bought my hereford tickets a while ago,and expect raised blood pressure for the last terrorising, tense game of the season, typical torquay. Also congratulations to the lads for equalling the club record points total of 81,a big big shame if we beat it on saturday and miss out though, but the truth is we have had many chances over the last 10 games to get automatic promotion, but blew it,so one last chance
