So the last home game of the (regular) season and as usual for us couldn't be more exciting! Just a single point off that final automatic promotion place and it really is the business end of the season and if we win but Crawley don't then we hit the last day of the season as masters of our own fate but if the reverse happens then it is hello play offs! Crewe have recovered well since we beat them 0-3 and in fact have not lost since a 1-0 away defeat at Southend on 18 Feb. They do draw a lot and the last six games see them with an equal number of wins and draws. They have just made the play off position and will be looking to consolidate but with all the pressure that brings as per our last two games in 2011! 18 year old Nick Powell is their danger man, top scoring with 14, making a clean sweep of all the club's awards this year as well as being tracked by a number of premiership clubs. He did miss the match against Cheltenham on Saturday due to a bout of tonsillitis and remains at home on antibiotics but will need to train before Friday to have a chance of selection. Other goal threats up front come in the form of Moore and Leitch-Smith with 9 and 7 strikes respectively. Despite no wins in three, I expect Ling will carry on with the same team and tactics that have got us into this position and we are due a good performance in front of what should be a capacity home crowd at least. Just one final observation: No idea what the score will be but the old man is getting down to Plainmoor for the eighth time this season and has a 100% win record so far! Hopefully he will make it nine!

One glaring omission from the above is the return of Billy Bodin. I think if we had managed to wrangle a season long loan then we would probably be up or as near as! Has a good shot on him and lethal from the edge of the area. If we do end up selling one of our current squad we could do worse by reinvesting the money into him as his contract is up this summer.
I last saw him scoring a goal against Plymouth and hopefully that is what I will remember him for this season.

I suspect the current (and forecast) rain may well make this match a lottery

According to the Herald, Tim Herbert is producing a 96-page bumper souvenir edition programme, complete with free team poster, all for the normal price of £3.

On the Crewe site, David Artell is 50/50 for this one and Nick Powell still hasn't fully recovered although not ruled out so every little bit helps on this one! I didn't realise but Billy still hasn't scored for Crewe - hopefully he can keep that run going for one more game!

we need to win simple as that,to at least keep the season bubbling at hereford, but this will be far from easy, they will fancy there chances on their recent form, nothing but being at the top of our form will do

Really hard to predict this one. We have to take 3 points but Crewe may be thinking the same to secure their play off berth. What is for certain is that we need to improve from last couple of performances. I still have faith, hopefully that will still be there come 5pm tomorrow!!! Come on you yellows!

Crewe captain and centre back Dave Artell is definitely ruled out for tomorrow with a hamstring injury; 18-year-old top scorer Nick Powell still not confirmed after missing the Cheltenham game last week with tonsilitis. Hopefully if he does start he will still be a bit under the weather. Torquay United 4 Crewe Alexandra 0

So difficult to predict. I understand the Alex fans confidence in getting a result against us with our form dropping of and their form on the up in recent weeks. Both need to win for slightly different reasons and it could be that we play each other again before the end of the season. I predict an open game with plenty of goals, a rare occurrence at Plainmoor of late and we are surely due one. We really must recapture some of that mid season form, particularly up front, to stand any chance and the only pressure now is what the players put on themselves as they have all surpassed our expectations by a huge margin.

I think this game will see the end of our automatic promotion hopes! Crawley will beat Hereford...just, and Crewe will beat us! Bummer!

Hoping today will be a good day -
Starting off well by playing the Damned - Phantasmaoria 2cd Deluxe version (18, yes 18 bonus tracks for £6.49).
'Safternoon 3 points from a good or dull game. 3 points - don't care if the game is fecking ugly as long as we win or at worse, match Crawley's results.
Then tonight a slap up nosh at the Church House Inn at Marldon to celebrate our 26th Wedding Anniversary.
