I would definitely have taken a two goal defeat today if it meant that we avoided any bad injuries or suspensions - but it just wasn't to be. I would take a three or four goal defeat right now if it means no further suspensions or injuries.

We're unbeaten this year with Howe not in the side. Beat Macc when he was injured and drew with Morecambe while he was suspended

We're unbeaten this year with Howe not in the side. Beat Macc when he was injured and drew with Morecambe while he was suspended I think that Howe only missed ONE game whilst injured and only ONE whilst being suspended for the two yellows he recieved. We all know we have a wafer thin squad with minimum cover for all players (well most) but not for Howe. He is pivitol to the way we play. Huge blow considering our forthcoming Xmas games.

But the point is we've not lost without him. And those games were against in-form sides as well. I don't think he's that great a loss, as good as he has been
At least it seems we're not alone today. Rovers getting stuffed 4-1 and also down to 10 men, Morecambe losing, Burton being held to draw. Argyle just got an equaliser...
It's also worth remembering that Accrington are on a 5 game unbeaten run, it's a tough place to go and we did have Manse out today who has been brilliant this year, so no shame in losing today. Howe being suspended isn't great but as I said earlier, we've actually done quite well without him so far this year. If it was O'Kane out for 3 games, I would be worried. But I don't think Howe is that big a loss
Anyway, now they're down to 10. Still a chance to get back into it

If it's any consolation, yet another red card for Argyle, so Darren Purse will miss the game against us

It was always going to be a tough game and the run had to end at some point. The important thing is how we react to the defeat. The players need to keep the confidence and not let the heads drop. Mansell will be back for swindon and we have a week to work on a game plan that doesn't involve Howe. The obvious question is whether we have the quality to replace him.....
