Ah the argument of silverware v league position.
Seem to recall a few years back having the same thread when it was the Trophy we were gunning for.
Light blue touch paper time.........
Personally I`d take winning a trophy and having a poor season in the league v a mid table position or dipping out on the play offs again.
May be if I was a Brum fan I`d be happy with the trophy and relegation. Rather than nothing but a continual struggle to stay up with no hope of making Europe.
Having followed Utd for 40 odd yrs i`d like to see us with some honours. Can`t see us winning a league or the FA or Lge cups. So that leaves the JPT.
Yes we had a good season last year and we`ve seen 3 promotions, 2 cup finals and several play off finals. But what have we got to show for it other than some memories of great days out?
Boards & managers set there own agenda and priorities. But i wonder what the outcome would be if there was a fans vote to determine a 3 year plan?

Sounds like we are once again getting dominated in the possession stakes...I'm sorry but I really think we need to sort out the midfield, not so much the defence

Milber Our manager obviously agrees with me (doubt he'd put it in writing) with the side he has put out and/or the way they are/have been playing. If we took 7,000 odd to the Play Off Final with 'heck of a lot' riding on it how many would we take to the Watch the Paint dry final? The only two cups (available to us) which are ' worth it' are the Carling Cup and FA Cup in which we have a chance in landing a big fish in which to attract quality players ala Stanley. Bar the Bristol Rovers game (which I missed) I don't think we've had a decent first half performance this season. |
