Anyone see the Rovers highlights, Accy player sythes Muzzy down with no intent on getting the ball and every intent on doing damage. Is this a case for assault, do you think the Police should get involved? If I was Muzzy I would deffo have lost the plot and smacked they guy down with full vengance, I know two wrongs don`t make a right but Jeez just watch the incident and see how you would react! Players have had to end their careers for less harsh tackles, I shouldn`t really use the term tackle in this incidence because it was assault! Perhaps a charge of ABH should stand along side this thugs red card!

Assult - Curtis Woodhouse's tackle on Mans whilst playing for Rushden a few years back.

Not being funny Phil but I have read a lot of reports from the game and seen the highlights, Muzzy was ripping this lad to pieces all match and the lad took him out because he knew their defence was stretched and the attack would have ended up in their penalty area, he took a red card for his team but did it in a very nasty way. Muzzy should never have been booked for his reaction, instead he should have been allowed a free swing at the git! Miss timed by about 10 yards is deliberate assault, the guys not even looking at the ball, he is focused on taking out Muzzy. Watch it again!

Can the FA increase the 3 match ban if they think the tackle is over the top? If not this would be one way of trying to stop it. If the FA could increase the Accy players ban from 3 to say 5 games, it might make them think twice.

Bleeding aussie wimps Only a minor difference between SDL and profesional footy then, you made those challenges you refer to because you weren`t good enough to play at a decent level, I was and did and I wouldn`t dream of trying to crock an opponent! You want to play rough house style then try Aussie Rules out for size, bloody Pommy whimps!

It's am shame that we didn't have someone who caught Ellison with such a tackle as he waltzed around about 4 players to score Morecambe's equaliser! I think Halpin should have perhaps 'taken a yellow for the team' (no Julian Alsop jokes please - it didn't REALLY happen!).
Muzzy was up and at him fairly quickly (and was stupid to raise his hands) so no harm done.

Also I don`t want to see our players doing tackles like that on anyone, it`s less damaging to concede a goal that it is to go down to 10 men. You can always get a goal back but you can`t get 11 men back! Then there`s the matter of that player missing out on the next games due to suspension. Tackles of that nature destroy careers sometimes.

Aussie Rules Seriously though.......a lungeing bad tackle isn't assualt or a police matter - there's enough proper assualts on our streets that go unpunished because the police neither have the resources or the will to deal with them - bad tackles happen......it's part of the game. This is from somebody that suffered one and never played again after the age of 28.

Also sorry to hear you got taken out of the game at such a young age!
