I asked for my money back when I took my daughter to see the final Harry Potter in 3D, 3D is shite and gives you a headache, it just ain`t good enough to charge the money they want and the volume was so loud it spoilt the film as well. This 3D stuff that jumps out at you is all blurry in the back ground and is graphically poor quality, I won`t be paying to watch anything else in 3D. I have seen the film since in 2D and it was much better quality to watch. Just incase your wondering, no I didn`t get a refund or complimentary tickets to another movie so they can show their cinema up their bottom! Don`t use Merlin Cinemas as they don`t give a toss about anything except bums on seats and cash!

.........Well, gang - just thought I'd start off this cheeky thread, we're a broad church on here so not just bands, but solo acts, musicals, theatre shows, etc - lets' get all the "grubby little secrets" out! - heres' mine anyway, I'm going to split 'em into a few categories, I think - BIG names, slightly lesser known names, names no-one but me probably will have heard of, musicals and the like and also theatre-type shows a la Jethro, Jim Davidson etc - think you got the picture! - no need to be shy, Roger Whittaker is NOT the enemy (although I believe Lord_Tanktop is still searching local car boot sales for that elusive live DVD of Rogers') and Jon will be pleased that on this occasion no Cliff (Hi, fans...) on the menu, thank the Lord, I'd never get another papadom off him otherwise........ Big NamesQueen (Wembley Arena 1980), David Bowie (Wembley Stadium 1987 - Glass Spider Tour - support Big Country), U2 (Wembley Stadium, Zooropa Tour, support Black Crowes, Bjork, Stereo MCs), Eagles (When Hell Freezes Over Tour, Wembley Stadium, support Kenny Wayne Sheppard - and no they DIDN'T do "The Last Resort" live), Bruce Springsteen (Wembley Arena and Crystal Palace), Beautiful South (Crystal Palace, support Gabrielle and Texas), Blondie, Meat Loaf (twice), Elton John (Royal Albert Hall supported by Courtney Pine), Morrissey (Hammersmith supported by Phranc), Simple Minds (Maine Road supported by Voice Of The Beehive, OMD and The Beautiful South), Bryan Adams (Birmingham NEC supported by Baby Animal), Rolling Stones (Wembley twice, 1982 and Voodoo Lounge tour (95?), supported by Jake Geils Band and Black Uhuru in 82, Stranglers on the Voodoo Lounge Tour), Neil Diamond (Woburn), Fleetwood Mac (Manchester MEN Arena supported by The Quire Boys), Whitesnake (Colston Hall), Pet Shop Boys (Birmingham NIA supported by Bad Lieutenant), Manic Street Preachers (Cardiff Arena supported by Ian Brown (absolute shite - a very pissed up, abusive, nasty, spiteful little man - was removed from stage fairly robustly by da management as was frankly far too drunk to perform properly), David Gray (Nottingham supported by Turin Brakes), The Levellers, Hawkwind, Travis (Bournemouth supported by Keane - called themselves after their House Matron at school Mrs Keane - a nice touch!), Texas (Hammersmith supported by The Upper Room), Status Quo (Bournemouth supported by Steeleye Span), OMD (Bournemouth supported by Gary Numan), Pogues twice, once as Poguemahone in 1984ish, once as Pogues in 1987 - Picnic in the Park - Finsbury Park, support Proclaimers and Alias Ron Kavanna), The Hollies, The Moody Blues, Art Garfunkel, Don McLean (American Pie, not the painfully unfunny ex-Crackerjack Grade A weirdo), Elkie Brooks, Everly Brothers, The Shadows (but no Cliff though Jon, phew!!!), Bon Jovi (at Milton Keynes Bowl supported by Teenage Fan Club and Joan Osborne), Bob Geldof (support Mike Peters - who sang one of the most poignant songs I have EVER heard and dedicated it to the late and still sadly missed and hugely talented Stuart Adamson of Big Country - "The Drunk and Disorderly", Bob Geldof couldn't remember the words of his own songs, needed front row help!!), Boomtown Rats, The Cult, The Icicle Works, The Damned, The Alarm, The Fields Of The Nephilm, Mike Peters on his own Dead Men Walking tour with Glen Matlock and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, The Mission, Dr Hook (supported by Dean Friedman who was most excellent), Gerry and the Pacemakers, Thunder, Spandau Ballet, Ten Pole Tudor (in their heyday - Fulham Greyhound, Smoke, REAL quality!!!), New Seekers, Rainbow (well, sort of - with Graham Bonnett as vocalist - WHAT a voice though), Doctor And The Medics, The Orchestra (ie ELO without Bev Bevan and Jeff Lynne), The Wurzels (geddin there), Nazareth, a 70s reunion tour (with Leo Sayer, Les McKeowns' Bay City Rollers (which actually meant Les McKeown with NO "original" Bay City Rollers!), David Essex and some Osmonds) - I'm a little hazy on where some of the supports actually were tbh, but I think I've included all the names anyway somewhere!!...... Some Lesser LightsThe Furey Brothers, The Dubliners, The Wolfe Tones (live in Dublin town, The Wexford Inn - 1983), Foster and Allen, Brendan Shine, Murphys Marbles (Ascot Racecourse), Mary Black, Sharon Shannon, The Spinners(!!!), Runrig, Ralph McTell, Show Of Hands, Batchelors, The Oyster Band, Flogging Molly, Chas and Dave, Deborah Bonham (sister of the late John, Led Zeppelin drummer) Band, Amen Corner, Liquid Gold/The Dooleys (HMS DRAKE Devonport circa 1980 - how very oh dear!!!), Maddy Prior Band, Maire Nesbitt, Makem & Clancy (also live in Abbey Theatre, Dublin town - 1983), Porrij (Wine Lodge Barbican, Plymouth 1979-80), Charlie Landsborough, Saw Doctors, Waterboys.................... MusicalsStarlight Express, Cats, Lion King, Miss Saigon, Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, South Pacific, The Rat Pack.................... Various Theatre/Comedy/Etc GubbinsJo Brand, Jim Davidson (loads of times, probably the most memorable was when on the very last night of a summer season at the Princess, he was still in the Sprat and Mackerel in Brixham at showtime, we had to wait about two hours or so while they got him and sobered him up a bit, and to his eternal credit, he stayed and did a fantakkers show till about 2.30 am, a few had to go home but most of us stayed and it was more like "An Audience With" in the end - he even sang "Maggie" and a couple of Pink Floyd numbers!!), Michael Barrymore (loads of times likewise - ultimate professional and bloody hilarious), Jethro (loads of times likewise - always fresh material - excellent), Jimmy Cricket, Roger Whittaker, Richard Digance, Ken Dodd (The Master his Doddy self - faultless), Val Doonican, Danny La Rue (excellent also), Cannon and Ball, Sinbad from Brooky in Snow White!!!!, Freddie Starr (the words "sheer filth" ain't enough!!), Little and Large, Barron Knights, Gary Wilmott, Chubby Brown, Reeves and Mortimer, Mike Osman, Tom Pepper, Joe Longthorne, Andy Eastman (supports Ken Dodd, ace ukelele player), The bleddy Roly Polys............. .............and probably a hundred more I can't remember, all in all not so bad for a 50 year old eh!, cheers to each and every one of 'em listed above, mines a large Jack (no coke or ice), COYY Sat!................ …..a late addition, Gilbert O'Sullivan at Babbacombe Theatre last night - excellent...…..

Haven't seen many bands, though I do remember seeing many cracking non-famous bands/groups in a club on the Strand back in the day...was it the Hotpoint? One person I'm quite sure no one else on this site has ever seen is Oliver.

I was going to say 'small world' but Torbay was smaller then and we didn't get many big acts, so I guess the odds of being at the same concert were pretty good then! If you look at the website Setlist it doesn't show that they played 'Seven Seas Of Rhye', I'm sure they did. Don't suppose you can remember!!

I've seen a few, AC/DC, Gillan, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath (awful), Nazareth, Rush, Quo, Slade (at Monsters of Rock, they ripped the place apart!), Joe Jackson, Gary Glitter, Squeeze (absolutely superb at the Octogon centre, Sheffield. Half the blokes I worked with at British Steel were there with their wives, as was I),Blackfoot (a Lynrd Skynrd spin off band again at Monsters, they also ripped the place apart so we went to see them at Sheffield City Hall), George Thouroughgood and The Destroyers, Ultravox. And Chas and Dave.
Not been to a concert for years though, ridiculous add ons such as booking fees and now 'facility' fees, order processing fees, handling fees, per item fees. Absolute rip offs.
Have over the years switched to comedy shows (these fees have now crept into these as well), seen Frank Skinner (three times, different tours), Frankie Boyle (absolutely gash, late on, early off and crap in between), Rich Hall (very funny), Jack Dee (excellent), Paul Merton (brilliant, was a live version of 'Who's line is it anyway', not what we expected but still very funny), Milton Jones (twice, if you like comedy go and see him), Ross Noble (rubbish, sounded pissed but claimed he's teetotal), Reginald D. Hunter (not bad).
One of the best concerts ever though was seeing The Rolling Stones, live at Roundhay Park in their final farewell last ever tour.
In 1982 :-)

Had several groups, singers etc. lined up this year The Meteors (Exeter Bierkeller) Ralph McTell (Exeter Northcott Theatre) Pet Shop Boys (Cardiff Motorpoint Arena- Wifes Birthday present) Sir Steve Hillage (Exeter Phoenix) Aha (Bournemouth O2) Caravan (Exeter Phoenix) There was also talk of Spear of Destiny returning to the Exeter Phoneix for the 'World Service Tour' in September 20. Shame that Fairport Convention won't be in Ivybridge this year.

Bob Marley and the Wailers, Earth Wind and Fire and Stevie Wonder on the same bill in Kingston Jamaica 1976? Crazy..went with mates from Mandeville rugby team..on the back of a truck. Literally had someone riding " shotgun " as we drove through rough parts of Kingston and Spanish Town. Lot of political violence at the time.
