Yes good shout by Juventus digging deep into their history and playing Notts County who inspired them to play in black and white stripes. Always wondered mind about Notts County being the oldest Football League team .... so who did they play? John Charles of course is a Juventus legend although he got a 4-0 FA Cup spanking at Plainmoor as captain of Leeds United before he went there. It is the first Italian club to own their own ground. Built on the same place as the Stadio delli Alpi which they used to share with Torino, so I assume Torino will now continue to play at the Stadio Olimpico which both clubs shared when the new Juventus stadium was being built. I went to the Stadio delli Alpi many times and the reasons behind the change are overwhelming. It had a capacity of about 90,000. On a good European night the atmosphere was great, but Seria A games would see the stadium well less than half full and domestic cup games with about 5000. Another good aspect with the new stadium is that the front row seats are 7 metres from the pitch. Previously miles away, so better to create a great atmosphere, and new capacity of 41,000 albeit they will still get 5000 for their equivalent of the FA Cup. Got my two Juventus scarves hanging on the wall as I type this! Forza Juventus!
