I enjoyed reading that, Chris.
Couple of additional points ...
The 'Yellow Red' in front of the name is related to the 'Remember 2002-2003' banner on the sixth picture (up high, behind the TV cameras).
In November 2002 we went bankrupt. Mark Uytterhoeven (guess you can best describe him as 'TV personality'), a lifelong fan assembled some incorrigible optimists into a temporary organization called 'Red KV'. 'Red' is Dutch for 'Save'. When they managed to save the club, the organization was made permanent under the name 'Yellow Red KV Mechelen' ... switching the Red from Dutch to English.
The aforementioned banner is often quoted when someone suggests buying some insanely expensive player.
On the same picture, right in the middle, you can see Xavier Chen ... a French Taiwanese Belgian who recently played his first game for Taiwan. He was discovered by a member of the Taiwanese FA while playing FIFA Manager (I kid you not).
'Malinwa' is Flemish ... erm ... 'spelling', I guess, for Malinois, which is French for 'from Mechelen'.
Our nickname is Kakkers which translates to ... Shiters (quite literally). It used to be an insult, but we reappropriated it. It comes from 'kekker' ... closest English translation is probably Pharisee. KV used to be the club of the Catholics while the other team from Mechelen was the team from the liberals.
An attendance of 10500 is just a touch below season average but still pretty good for an end of july match.
Attendance wise we're the 5th team in Belgium.
Budget wise, we’re the 12th team
The same clip of "We're Malinwa" was also used in this music video . It just so happens that there are quite a few musicians among KV's fans ... a couple of them got together an recorded an full length album of KVM related songs. This song is one of them.
The ‘strange executive box end’ is due space constraints, there’s a graveyard right behind it. This was about the best thing that could be squeezed in there.
In fact, the entire stadium is completely boxed in.
The ‘impressive lob’ is by Boris Pandza aka The Bosnian Bull aka Kung Fu Pandza … a defender, would you believe it.
Anyways, (before this turns into a novel ... hey, there's a thought) thanks for the review.
