Didn't we get something like an extra £20,000 when Akinfenwa moved?

No, Akinfenwa moved on a free from Swansea (he tried to get a contract elsewhere with a stress fracture in his leg!). We did get one or two lots of appearance monies for him, but not an money when he moved.

Yes I think you are right. I may have getting confused as I think we had to go to a tribunal to get the fee for him in the first place, perhaps this is the money I am thinking of?

We didn't get a penny from any of the others moving - unfortunately all of them moved on Bosmans (Akinfenwa to Millbrawl, Monk to Barnsely / Swansea, Jack to R&D, Constantine to Leeds and Wayne Thomas to Burnley and WIlliamson to Wycombe)!
We did go through a golden age of getting good money for players though. Shame the money was not regularly spent on bright young hopefulls to replace them and generate more money!

I'd be elated if we could get some more money for Jamie Ward, but I always hate waiting for these deals to go through - remember how we waited for Rodney Jack, Leon Constantwhine, Akinfenwa, Gary Monk, Darren Moore, Wayne Thomas et al to move to big clubs for big money - always on the verge of moves - never actually going through with them!! We got £60k for Darren Moore moving from Doncaster and maybe something for some of the others Yeah and  where he is now - "plying" his trade at oakwell and he gets stick every week!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D |
