found a nice little piece in a national magazine on mark loram
makes me feel humble that i was able to witness him from the early blue chelsea kit days upon him sadly leaving fulltime football at the way to young age of 26
to our younger fans , he was this talented make no mistake.
not sure how to submit 3 import pieces in one message so will do one at a time in 3 messages

I can’t see the name of the author of that piece on Mark Loram. The reference to the goal at Burnley – which was alluded to again in last week’s Herald Express – makes me wonder if it’s not old David Thomas himself.
If so, I’m tempted to agree with Jon that a DT book on “Forty Years of Torquay United” would be an excellent read. That’s two guaranteed readers for you Dave should you be reading this. How about it?

yes it is dave thomas who did that piece just looked in magazine. Thought it must have been. The only other person who could have written it that well seems to have denied knowledge. Many thanks for posting that up - an excellent read. Mark Loram was indeed a joy to behold. As with all geniuses, you do wonder what they could have been like if they hadn't been like they were - but the whole point is that if they hadn't been like they were then they wouldn't have been what they were. I do hope that makes sense.

................a great read and thanks for putting it up, westyorkshire!........
.......also a privilege for me to have watched Mark in his prime turning out in the late 80s/early 90s for us, immensely talented, slightly wayward, languid, genius, all terms that come to mind with him - allegedly the bane of a certain Mike Batesons' life as well!.........
.........to be found, I believe occasionally, in the bookies(!!) near Plainmoor on St Marychurch Road, still - where he leads a quiet life so I have seen, anyway - all know him in there - he was kind enough to give his autograph the other month for bruv when that last TUFC "best players ever book" came out - we caught up with him as he was approaching the Fortune on a Sunday morning, he was very happy to sign and seemed pleased as punch, joking with his mate as they (you've guessed it) swung into the side door of aforementioned Fortune - great!.............
