Interesting read and view, Chris.
Quirky ground with a great name. The functional yet slightly naff lean-to of a seated stand is, like many features of the best non-league grounds, amusing and endearing.
Maybe it's the light playing tricks, but the quality of the playing surface look appalling (see second bottom pic). There are patches of grass on Dartmoor that have a smoother surface than that.

I thought it was the worst pitch I've seen in quite sometime. The grass behind the goal after the fence and footpath was in better condition than the pitch.
Those lean to stands vary in naffness. The ones at Tooting and Staines are a bit more substantial but when it rains you'll need an umbrella for sure.

Ah well. Another season of groundhopping in store and a load more photos to take. I don't think I'll beat last seasons record of 73 matches but I'll give it a good go. I’ve no idea how many games I watched last year as I never bother to count. I’ve a feeling that various circumstances will mean a reduced total this season. Nor, at present, can I see any “fresh” grounds on the horizon although, hopefully, there’ll be something before Coventry in the Olympics tournament. Sidmouth in the Peninsula maybe; possibly Totton’s new ground on August Bank Holiday Monday. Nonetheless more than happy about last season’s “new” grounds: Andover, Annan, Bickleigh, Bolton, Chesterfield, Havant & Waterlooville, Liverton, Morecambe, Neath, Okehampton, Rotherham and Stoke. And Doncaster – for rugby league. Never been to Burnham and probably less likely to now they’re in the opposite Southern League section to Taunton Town. Speaking of Taunton, there was at pretty funereal atmosphere at their friendly at Witheridge during the week following the burning down of their club house. That’s most of the income up the shoot for the foreseeable future.

Ivybridge Town v Exeter City in the 2nd Round of the Devon St Lukes Bowl under floodlights at the new Ivybridge ground could be one for you to pencil in.

I've been holding back on Ivybridge until the "works" have been completed. More likely to be a Saturday I'd say. I'm generally a bit thin on Plymouth "outgrounds" having not been to Plymstock, Elburton or Oak Villa. Have I missed much?

In a word no! ;D ... although of course Ivybridge is firmly in the picturesque South Hams and fiercely defends itself against any links with Plymouth!

Jannerstock, Jannerash, Jannerpoint, Jannerbridge.....they're all the same! (Mind you, a certain combination of circumstances over the next few months could result in me relocating to Janner Central itself).
