The day after Carol died, I had a call from Dave asking me if I would help him organise The Walk For Carol, Dave knew that I had always wanted to meet Carol having spoken to her on the phone many a time but sadly I was not going to be able to do that & he thought this would be the next best thing. Of course I agreed without any hesitation to help Dave & we set about organising the event. Dave & I realise that it was always going to be a bit difficult because of the location of the walk (Bideford) & would probably have attracted more people to take part if it had been nearer to Torquay but it had to be Bideford as that was Carols planned 'come back walk' which sadly she was never well enough to do before she lost her long & very brave battle against breast cancer. I am appealing please to every one who reads this to go to the link below and donate to Breakthrough Breast Cancer as the more money that we can raise for this charity the better, I am sure that each & everyone of us knows someone who as been hit by this awful killer disease. www.justgiving.com/walkforcarol or if you would like to take part in the Walk For Carol please PM me or give me a ring on 077899 02182 Many thanks, Lou x

Never knowing just how I was going to be when you called, you have played such a big part helping me as just having someone to talk to really does make such a big difference. Can I thank those who did go to the just giving website and donate some money after my last post on this thread and thank in advance any others who do so in the near future. I have at last improved a bit and even laughed yesterday, mind you if you knew some of the things that have happened to me over the last week, you all would be laughing your heads off as well. I do hope soon to be at a stage where I can start posting more on the TFF and I thank you all for keeping it all alive and well during my absence. Love you all and even more so you dear Lou.

I have my own swear jar in the pub now so when I swear I have to put money in it, this jar is another sponsor for me! Two birds with one stone `eh, what an idea, I curv my swearing which tends to increase the longer I`ve been in the pub and also raise more money for the Walk. One week to go now folks get ya sponsor forms filled in!

Come on everyone!! If you can't make the walk, please pledge what you can. Today was a very sad day today for me. My sister sadly passed away on 25th June and the funeral was today. the service was brilliant and the church, Riviera Life in Torquay should be proud of themselves. they collected for Rowcroft who did so much to help my sister. I will be walking on Sunday for both Carol and my sister and hope the money I and others raise will help other families not to feel the pain that Dave and I have felt in recent times. I am not looking for sympathy but need you all to know how important it is to give whatever you can afford thanks

Hi dear friend Stuart and so very sorry I missed your post about your sister. As we both know we have been talking via PM about your dear sister since the very first day she learned she had cancer.
Thanks for putting her picture up, she sure looks so much like you and just like Carol, we both know she is no longer suffering. We will walk together on Sunday for both Carol and your dear sister to honour them both and while we will both miss them, they will always be in our hearts.
I would like to thank those who have given on our just giving website over the last few days and hope a few more of you will visit the site and give a few pounds you might have spare for such a good cause and for both Carol and Stuarts sister.
Good bless you Stuart for being such a good friend and I'm so glad you did join the TFF or I would not have been so lucky to have you and your wonderful dear family in my life.

Thanks Dave
Ruth was a very strong and determined lady, much like Carol. We shall remember them both on sunday and a few tears will probably be in order.
I am definitely a better person for joining this forum and meeting people who care like you, Dave, Jon, Phil, Nick, Lou, Richard etc. sorry if I didn't mention you!! I'm sure there are many more great people on here who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet - sorry.

Last day for sponsor gathering, hope the weather is kind tommorow! Its not the last day aussie as the just giving website will be up and running for a number of years and so there is still so much time for others to go and visit it and donate to it for Carol and Stuarts sister. See you tomorrow mate. Dave
