Now I know many Of you are around about my age, so I would expect, how you learned about sex, was probably the same way I did. I was at an all boys school In Newton Abbot, known as Highweek School for boys and I know some members on here also went to the same school( Not Pete Godfrey he was head boy Of the posh grammar lot across the road).
So I was 12 years old and a few mates started telling me what happened when you had sex. "So let me get this right, I take her for a walk, grab hold Of this get her to drop them and then put It In the magic hole" OK so then what do I do? " I have to pretend I'm doing press ups"
Talking about press ups, I was enjoying a midnight moonlight walk with Carol, on Paignton seafront. I looked on the the beech and saw a drunk doing press ups, so I shouted down"don't look now mate but someone has stole your girl"
That really was the way we learned about sex, the school told us nothing, In biology all you talked about was flowers and other times you had to die sect worms. Now I have still to this day failed to understand what I leaned from cutting up to bits some poor worm, who never did me any harm.
Todays kids know far more that we did and far more earlier, schools teach It and they have the Internet. I think I'm right In saying that soon It has to be taught by all schools to children from five years upward.
I now have learned that the Scout movement Is planning to Offer sex education to Its members Of both sexes and will If they feel any member Is likely to have unprotected sex,be giving out condoms
Sorry but why do they need to be doing this, what happened to tieing knots and learning flags. Would you be happy sending little Johnny to cubs knowing leaning about sex was on the training sheet.
Many years ago when Ant was a cub, at St Marychurch, the leader was about to leave and the pack was going to fold If no one could be found to take It over. I offered until a new leader could be found,I ended up doing It far longer than I wanted too. In those days you were not checked by the police and It Is true that there where some scout leaders, who did It only to be near boys,we all know why.
So firstly do you think the Scout leaders should be teaching sex? do you think It could attract the wrong sort Of people to run scout groups, as they could talk sex etc. Would you be happy for your children to belong to a scout pack, knowing that along with leaning knots, they would be getting sex education and even could be given condoms If some leader thought Johnny might need one.
