well done boys, you deserve it.
well done Sean North for snuffing out any sign of over celebrating as we know what happened to cambridge when they did.
It is just a shame that Paul Bristow is not with us to enjoy this moment
Lewis for mascot!!

An excellent performance from the team tonight, showing just what an astute manager we will lose when/if Bucks goes. Just as at Plainmoor we defended from the front, closing them down quickly and harrying their defence and midfield. No wonder that we again began to tire towards the end, especially Zebs and Tomlin. The whole team was immense, especially the usual suspects eg Branno but I would have to suggest one somewhat unsung hero if you ask me and that's Chris Robertson - in my book he was immense tonight. Radio Shropshire was getting calls from people saying that we are a good side and the better team over the two games, creating far more chances and not letting them have a look in. I thought it was a good omen when I was sat in a queue of traffic before the game and noticed that the car in front had a sticker on its bumper saying "Buckle up" (something to do with seatbelts I spose )! Having said all that I'm gutted that I shall be in the channel tunnel during the game next Saturday !

Just back to the smoke after game.
Great NOISY Support all game - all players played well - first half was great - calm, composed good passing football. Strong characters - Branston and Robertson at the back, Tomlin another good game - linked well and held ball up. Last 10 minutes we were looking tired - no surprise after all the effort that had been put in. Next Saturday is the important one now though.... not today. - great day w Longeaton/Wigston/Jock/Paul Gulls teddgull

Would just like to congratulate Graham Turner for playing Ainsworth up front. Surely the worst bit of team selection ever. An easy ninety minutes really and it would have been even easier had we not continually gave them the ball in the second half. That said Shrewsbury were completely clueless over the two legs and the best team one easily. So its on to the final and its one handed self lover Westley and his band of cheating thugs. Anyone who saw us demolish them at Plainmoor would say that we are now firmly odds on favourites. I really think they will struggle to contain us on a big pitch - If we turn up and want to get promoted we will never have a better chance. Just need a ref who won't react to their cheating.

I have always been in the "fluffy" corner (and never waivered) and all you could do was admire the way we played --PB definately planned very well. Even when the subs appeared they just slotted straight into this sparkling performance. Few closing thoughts: 1/ Bit of a shame at the end when the "local Joe Barlows" came on the pitch and ruined our chance for too much appreciation of the Team--however PB is right..." we havent got anything to celebrate yet!!" 2/On the long journey home I did consider the upset of our "friends" in the Far East and North Devon.......yee of little faith!!! I suppose if we were to lose next week or the first few games in Division 1 they will be back!!! 3/ Once again must thank Tedd for also organising games for the journey. My favourite was to give the "2" navigators differrent destinations (by accident) ----nearly had a fight on the Shrewsbury ring road!!! ;D ;D ;D Happy happy days----have a good weekend all

Well, it was quite easy in the end wasn't it? Although I have to say when the ref started giving free kicks for fun in the last 10 minutes I was starting to feel a bit tense. Still I need've'nt worried really, we never really looked like conceding or losing control of the game. The best performances came from a very sensible and watchful Mansell, the tireless and dangerous Tomlin, the terminator like running of Zebroski, the hard working and sniping Lathrope in midfield. The rest were just magnificent and are an absolute credit to the club. Good substitutions as well, Oastler adding a bit of solidity and height, LRT helping to stiffen up the left flank and even a cameo from Macklin at the end.
The yellow army made a lot of noise last night, and to be fair Shrewsbury fans played their part although the chav tw@ts (not ours for a change) nearest to the away end made idiots of themselves most of the game including this rather gay looking Peter Pan kid with a green cardigan and ginger hair. A word of advice son, an understated and quieter approach to life might work out better for you. As for the rest of their little Chimps
A few Shrewsbury fans congratulated us on the way back to the car park and the Charles Darwin pub, a few congratulated us and then said they hoped we would lose at Old Trafford (childish swine). Still they were more gracious than their regiment of idiots who ran onto the pitch at the end adopting their finest Green Street poses. Clever stuff indeed. The pre-mediatated pitch invasion is possibly the most boring aspect in football. Compare this to the wonderfully spontaneous scenes at Huddersfield the other night and you'll know what I mean.
Well done to everyone connected to the club last night.
