Scanning through yesterday's Non League Paper, I've just read an article by Setanta's Paul Parker outlining how he would never wish a return to club management now that he's tasted life as a TV pundit. There was a lot of criticism of Parker on .net last season, some of it justified in my opinion; much of it just plain "wagon jumping" I think those who engaged in that should now take a considered opinion of just how much the guy has worked at his weaknesses and improved beyond all recognition in a year. Indeed, I love Setanta's innovative and "smell the liniment" coverage. They've made a real and concerted effort to be fresh and different and more importantly for us; made the very brave decision to give comprehensive coverage to football at OUR level. I only hope that should we win promotion at the end of the season, Setanta secure a deal to cover League 2 football next season because I for one would badly miss my Setanta!

Merse, why would anyone want to be a manager these days? Paul Parker knows there Is a good living to be earned as a TV pundit, or any work In the media.
I would put It to you that Leroy has taken the same view, saves him getting shot down In flames by people like you, who only want to remember, his not so good days. Please don't tell me Leroy does It only because no one would give him a managers job, because I don't think that Is the case.
Setanta has coved the games well and It has been great being able to see some away games, that I know I would not have seen otherwise. Its not perfect, but then what Is.I believe they need to stop the interviews with the managers during the game, the managers don't need It, It does not help them and what do we really learn.
Nothing that we could not hear at half time, you can see most really just want to get on and watch the game and not be bothered by some person sticking a mike In their face.

Good post merse. i think that paul parker enjoys the job more as well this season as you say hes had that years experience and he seem much more comfortable and why would anyone in their right mind want to be a manager? (except those of course who wanted buckle out 12wks ago) I also think sultanas coverage is quite good, (like the new girl to give becca a bit of competition! ;D ) and its good to see leroy on their now and again too..........
