A chance to turn successive wins against the bottom two into the bottom three although Burton beat Chesterfield for the third time this season on Friday night and won't be easy.
Burton have to their detriment fallen way behind the rest of the league in fixtures played due to a combination of the bad weather and the FA cup and in fact this is a rearranged game that was originally scheduled for December. In fact Burton have so far only played 10 away league games but have just won once losing their last match on the road 3-0 against Shrewsbury.
Burton have lost their top scorer Harrad but have a handy replacement in Zola. Webster is now their top scorer with 9 at present. On Friday, they played a 4-2-3-1 formation so should be an interesting match up with our side. With their fixture back log, I can't see them getting out of the lower half of the table although should have more than enough to stay clear of the relegation zone.
As for our team, it is a first opportunity for Branston to play against his old team since his summer signing for us and hopefully he can show them what they are missing! I sense some real competition for certain places at present but can't see too many changes in the starting lineup from Saturday with Kee, Robinson and Zebroski leading the line in what I feel is becoming a potent strike force. The competition for places in midfield is intense and even LRT in defence has come in and contributed something different. All the best in respect of the illness in the Nicholson household.

I hope we give Darren Moore a welcome reception on Tuesday.
Havent seen him at Plainmoor for a long whils and his career has taken some weird twists and turns since he left us. The last time I remember him here was when we defeated Doncaster in their relegation season to the Conference when he was without doubt the best player they had on the pitch.
Looks to be as slow as ever now though from what I have seen on the box so hopefully our nippy runners will get the better of him though set peices could be very interesting with Branno and him competing in the box!

I must confess that due to the time I have to get up in the mornings for work and the fact that after I get home from the game I have to do a match report, get our programme pages up and the match photos if they have arrived, I’m not a lover of Tuesday night matches these days. But I’ll be there and hopefully Ant will be coming to the game as well, just as it always once was, watching TUFC play with my boy there watching with me. I have always had a soft spot for Burton, maybe it came about because Nigel Clough was their manager. I just loved his straight no nonsense talking dad who was one of the best football characters in history as far as I’m concerned. Mind you I will never forget the first time we played them in the FA Cup at home. Nigel came on as a sub I seem to remember and the game was not that good a game to watch and the result certainly was not the one we were looking for or expected. They did well to progress to the football league and have done well to stay in it. Their position in the league table looks a very false one and if they were to win their games in hand they have over us, they would in fact be one point better off than we are. Their home form is certainly better than their away form and as Rob pointed out they have only won once away, draw three and lost six on the road, scoring nine goals in total but conceding sixteen. Once again I don’t think Bucks will be looking to make any changes, I’m not sure of Nico’s situation, but would expect him to play if that is possible. I would hope after winning our last two games we will see a few more than the 1600 that turned up for the last Tuesday night against Hereford. I don’t think the gate will go above 2000 mind you as we do have another home game on Saturday and some might just have to make a choice due to finances, which game they fancy most. Sitting nicely in tenth place and only six points from a play-off place with a few games in hand over most of the teams above us. A good run now would see us actually occupying one of those play –off spots, did we really recently have a thread started on here with the title “Relegation a possibility”  |

They must have been bad then - he was playing for Bradford City for the Donny relegation season!! Sadly the Doncaster Board gave the sell-on clause up for an absolute pittance which meant that we both lost-out when he moved from Bradford to Portsmouth not long after.
This will be a tough one (as they always are) but I think that the confidence boost that the last two wins gave the players will stand us in good stead. It would really get a bit more belief that we could make the play-offs if we could get 3 points on Tuesday.
I wasn't there to see LR-T play on Saturday but was very encouraged by those on here that did. He came-in during a very tough time last season and was critisised for some of his performances by some - but I don't recall him ever being on a losing side! I think that he'll retain his place - as will Potter.

The brain cells aint what they were just remember that Donny were struggling when they came to us for a mid week game and I thought it was the season they went out of the league. Must have been the previous season when they were struggling. One hell of along career when you consider he started with us in 1992. |

It has been a hell of long time in football terms Pete. I remember him playing back in 1992 in a home defeat to Birmingham (in which Darren "Bloody" Robbotham scored not long after leaving us!) and he was only about 17. He had a hell of a game and I was sure that he was going to be playing at a decent level even though it looked for sure that we were going down.
He was unfortunate enough to play in a struggling Paul Compton team (that 5-2 defeat at home to Yeovil stood-out as being a torrid afternoon for him in particular)- but perhaps that helped shape his character at the early stage of his career.
I spoke to him when we lost to Oxford 1-0 in Leroy's last season as he was there watching Lee Bradbury (I think?). A top bloke and has devoted a lot of his time and resources that his abilities have brought him to do charity work - I have huge respect for him. I hope he gets a great reception from the home supporters before the game.

Just a quick note about the TFF pages in the programme for this game. As the programmes had already been printed for the game that ended up being cancelled, they will be used for this match with a new cover.
This means the match reports etc on our pages will be from the games before the original fixture was cancelled.

i fancy us to win this one,we are getting results now,there wont be much in it maybe 2-1 to us,interestingly the pickler has never scored for us,and ok hasnt ever scored many,but i reckon he will definitely be fired up for this one,and at odds of 16/1 as anytime scorer thats with william hills,the gamblers amongst us might have a little punt,so often players score against their former clubs,why should the pickler be any different?

Not having that Paul  last season I decide to go and stand in front of the main grandstand for a change, we only went and won and I was not allowed back on the popside again until we lost  Good to see that alunmeerkat will be coming down from North Devon for the match. Don't believe that I'm coming to see Darren Moore play again rubbish he is coming because he is addicted to the Torquay United drug like we all are. We might think we can stay away, miss a few games but we can never ever be fully cured and in the end it wins and back we go again for another dose of the stuff. I bet Leigh wishes there was a way it could be extracted and then injected into non TUFC fans, that would be one way to see bumper gates up at Plainmoor. Its been a wet and damp old day and more showers are forecast for tonight, lets hope the weather does not put many off from going tonight. Lets also hope our team fully rewards all those who do make the effort to go and show their support tonight, home fans are due a top class performance and result. |

Not many fans of egg-chasing on here but I too love the way England are going about things now. Big controversy about Ashton's 'showboating' but I say leave him alone!
As for Burton, I can see them really fired up for this game and hope us to sneak it. Will be a real struggle to get to vying for the play-offs but I hope the team are allowed to give it a real go - win or bust!
