With this being the fifth game in a fortnight, maybe the enforced mid season break wasn't such a bad thing although we will have to make up for it later this season particularly with further postponements due to our cup run!
So on to Morecambe, an away game sandwiched in the middle of four home matches. A familiar face will be that of Kieran Charnock who has slotted well into the middle of their defence and is no doubt happy to be now playing regularly. Morecambe have done pretty well since Christmas winning away at both Stockport (2-0) and Shrewsbury (3-1) but ironically losing at home to Accrington Stanley (1-2) although the previous home game back in mid December they won 1-0 against Port Vale with Charnock scoring the only goal.
Morecambe don't seem to have a red hot goal scorer on form with their goals more evenly distributed with Jevons on 6 and Fleming on 4 at the top of their goal scoring chart. Morecambe are currently in sixteenth place on 27 points but a tightly packed table means that if the Crewe match had been played later in the season, they could have overtaken us with a win!
Looking back to the previous match against our opponents at Plainmoor, it was a welcome 3-1 win although Parrish was sent off after 9 minutes and when Shuker was sent off after 82 minutes, it was a relatively relaxing end to one of our matches for once. Morecambe can certainly pass the ball well and this is bound to be a more testing match although I think that we are now on a better run of form!
With the recent success of playing Zebs up front with Benyon, I suspect that Bucks will go for this as opposed to putting O'Kane in the hole. I think that every player in the starting XI on Tuesday deserve to start again although the substitutes may need to come on earlier this time if it is another heavy pitch.

I hate playing against teams that have our ex-players in them, Kieran`s gunna deffo have filled them in about our weaknesses and strengths! Can`t blame him, he is one of their players now, not just on lone.

So on to Morecambe, an away game sandwiched in the middle of four home matches. A familiar face will be that of Kieran Charnock who has slotted well into the middle of their defence and is no doubt happy to be now playing regularly. I was looking through some old posts today Rob and found a good match report made by adamprowse, below is a part I have quoted on his views of Kieran Charnock debut for us. Charnock A superb debut, and my MOTM. On tonight’s evidence, it is hard to imagine the club being able to sign a more capable defender. His positioning, timing of tackles, heading and distribution were all top draw, particularly impressive given the standard of the players he was defending against. I hope he become a first team regular. As you say I'm sure he will want to have a good game against us and his knowledge of our players and the way they play with be invaluable not only for his new manager, but what he will need to do out on the pitch himself. Being an away game there is a danger Bucks might want to go back to his tried and trusted 4-4-1-1 formation that has worked so many times in the past. But the way we have played in our last two home games, I really feel he should just stick to the 4-4-2 as he can always change it any time he feels its not working. Another three points would be very welcome and keep the winning habit going that would help us so much I feel in our up and coming 4th round FA Cup tie. If you are going to the match please consider putting up a match report as they really help those of us not at the game, get a real fans view of the game. We also use as many as we can in our programme pages " Views from the forum"

I know it`s a new stadium at Morecombe but what are the stats against them away, not that a new stadium should alter any sort of luck or form?

Yes I remember that tale well and the frustration you felt, mind you the shots taken with your phone weren't to bad Chris. We will look forward to your report and pictures as always.

It's a long history between the two sides with them getting promoted the year we got relegated but basically we have always lost there! ;D All Soccer Matches ordered by Timeline 30/10/10, 16:00 Torquay - Morecambe FT 3 : 1 (1 : 1) (2 : 0) 27/03/10, 16:00 Morecambe - Torquay FT 2 : 0 (1 : 0) (1 : 0) 17/10/09, 16:00 Torquay - Morecambe FT 2 : 2 (1 : 1) (1 : 1)

Our players rightly have had the last two days off as they all put so much hard work and effort into winning the last two games. I think those of us who were at the Crewe game could clearly see many of the players were getting very leggy near the end of the match and I'm sure the two days off will see them fully recovered and ready to take on Morecambe. They travelled up this morning and were stopping at Blackburn on the way for a pre match training session. I was surprised to read that Morecambe's new stadium only holds 6.476; maybe the name Globe Arena just makes you feel the stadium is some large bowl with a much larger capacity. After doing a bit of research on the ground it did not look like I expected it too. Here is some imformation about the ground and some pictures. The Globe Arena is named after Globe Construction, the company that built the stadium The stadium holds up to 6,476 supporters, with 2,173 seats available in the Main Stand, which runs the length of one side of the pitch. Opposite the Main Stand is an uncovered terrace with a capacity of 606, giving a similar feel to the ground as that at Christie Park. At either ends of the pitch are the home and away stands, with the home end holding a maximum of 2,234 supporters and the away end having a capacity of 1,389 In the north east corner of the stadium is the community block, which is split between two floors. The building also houses a gym and a ticket office for visiting fans. The stadium replaced the old Morecambe F.C. stadium, Christie Park, which was Morecambe's home since 1921. Work officially started on clearing the site of trees on 9 May 2009, and work above ground started in early September 2009. By the middle of September the first main structure of the Main Stand was visible, and in early 2010 the other three stands were being developed. In late May the pitch was seeded. It was originally planned that the stadium would be ready for the 2009-10 season, but delays meant that it would not be ready until the 2010-11 season. Globe Arena's opening game ought to have been a friendly against Bolton Wanderers on 28 July 2010, with the official opening of the stadium due to be marked by a local derby against rivals Preston North End on 31 July. However all three planned home pre-season friendly fixtures were cancelled because of site delays. The stadium's opening game was instead against Coventry City for Morecambe's League Cup first round tie on 10 August, in which Morecambe marked the occasion with beating their Championship opponents 2–0, with Andy Fleming scoring the first two goals at the stadium. The first league game at the Globe Arena was a 0-0 draw with Rotherham United. Their first league win came against Shrewsbury Town, with a 1-0 victory. The Shrimps biggest victory on the ground was a 5-0 demolition of Stockport County, with striker Phil Jevons becoming the first player to score a hat-trick on the ground. If you are going to the game by car, maybe best to stay away from the beach ;D

Nice tidy little modern ground with bags of room for expansion should the need ever arise. Heavy rain forecast again for tomorrow especially in the Morcombe area so take your armbands even your not going to the beach!

Given that they've only won three games at home and we've only lost two away I am optimistic that we can take something from the game *if* we can produce anything like the standard of the first half performance we did in the first half against Crewe or the last 20 minues that we did against Morecambe a couple of months back. Easier said than done!
Charnock will naturally be looking to show Bucks that he was wrong to leave him on the sidelines for much of his time here - but then Ellis and Branston will be doing their best to demonstrate why they are our best pair at the back.
I hope that Jevons won't be able to return from his hamstring injury. On injury front everyone seems to be OK - although surely after the efforts of the last couple of matches they will be a bit leggy and that is something to consider with regards to formation - do we go with two up front or move O'Kane from the wing? I would be happy to see things stay as they were against Crewe, but would it suit us to have such an open game?
