With the team on a high and unbeaten for seven games, hopefully the weather won't intervene this Saturday. The latest forecast is set for overnight lows of around 0 C and daytime highs of around 6 C so we should be OK but there could be a lot of postponements up North. In fact, an away draw would again have seen us on the road for three matches in a week so coming out of the hat first was a double bit of luck. After the disappointment of the Barnet match, maybe Buckle will look to play a similar formation to that of away, at home! We won't know as to whether Benyon or anyone else for that matter will still be here until tomorrow evening so a bit premature to speculate on the starting XI. Anything can happen in the FA Cup but with Walsall losing their last two away matches 3-0, this is a great chance to progress and hopefully a good sized crowd will take advantage of the price reduction to cheer the team on! COYY.

contrasting seasons so far for both clubs,so us at home puts us in a good position to move into round three. There are two downsides for me,one our home form is patchy to say the least, and secondly quite often we go on a roll especially our away form, then blow it just as we think we have cracked it,leaving everyone disappointed. If we can just re-produce our recent form for this one and take our chances we should be ok,2-0 to us i predict

Potentially the most important game in the clubs history - or just another damp squib of a draw if we do happen to get through. Walsall will be thinking just the same. Hope we can reproduce Tuesdays form and pray for Man utd/Chelsea/Arsenal away in the third round. More than Likely we get past Walsall and draw Darlington away or they get through and draw a big one! Always seems to work like that for us.. One win and a decent draw could quite simply secure the imediate future of our club.

I have a sneaky feeling we are going to go a long way in this competition this year...even as far as..................
I don't think the game on Saturday is going to be like the game at Wycombe in midweek. Two reasons for that...1) because we're crap at home...2) because everyone knows how much this can mean to a club in our position, so there will be a lot of nerves out there! This game will be a hard slog with a scrappy 1:0 win!

Winning this game simply means one very important thing; we will be in the hat for the next round. You do feel our very well run club deserves the sort of payday that City got a few seasons ago, what a difference such a large amount of money could really make for our club.
After such a great performance on Tuesday night, I can see us being on top for large parts of this game as we do seem to be able to up our game against the bigger clubs. My only fear and one based on watching such games in the past, is after fully deserving to win the game, we end up conceding a very late goal.
Still I believe we are more than good enough to win the game and get into the next round and while that big club is what I would like then, a surviving non league club might not be so bad as it would give us a chance to collect more prize money and an even greater chance of a big club in round four.
If there is no change in the weather, I expected its going to be a bitterly cold afternoon up at Plainmoor and the canteens will be extra busy serving hot drinks and food. I don’t think the pitch will be frozen but with the temperatures going down to -4 degrees tonight, it is possible there could be a problem around the goal at the family stand end.
I’m sure Aussie will be up the ground nice and early with his fork and along with the others, doing all that will be necessary to make sure the game goes ahead.

With Benyon suspended, the biggest question is who will play in attack against Walsall ? I expect Kee will start with perhaps O'Kane supporting him. Gritton has not had much of a look-in this season so I doubt he will start. What are your views on this one, will we play 2 up front or 1 and who should we play in attack ?

hemmings and zebroski provided he plays are the chaps that will feed the ammunition,so if there on song we could be ok,as i have said many times before, billy kee is due to terrorise a defence soon lets hope its tomorrow.Gritton will always hold a special place for us gulls fans, but the cold reality is he hasnt shown to be up for it so far,a player i think will not be here come the end of january

Looking at the Walsall squad (Macken, Reid, McGivern et al) this could be a very tough game. Whilst all the positivity coming from our fans makes a nice change be under no illusions - we will have to be bang on form to get through this. Stay off the lads backs and be patient - we can do this, but it aint gonna be easy.

Kee has to start and as I believe in time he will be an even better player than Elliot, I expect he will do well in this game. In a perfect world with the old Grits we once knew, then I would have started with both of them up front. When he came back he looked good in his first few games, he was winning the ball in the air and getting it to other players. But he has not been doing that well in more recent outings and so I'm afraid I would only have in on the bench. So Kee up front with O'Kane just in behind him, we know O'Kane is a clever player and has an eye for a good pass as well as shooting at goal if he gets an opportunity. Grits may well have a part to play later in the match if we are looking to get a goal back.

it would give me great pleasure if grits came on and popped in an 82nd minute header,he still could, but generally he has not seemed the same player this time round, but truthfully not many second time round are as good as before. He will soldier on and i think end up in management somewhere eventually, anyone that has spoken to him,and i have many times will tell you what a smashing bloke he is,and the one thing you get is all out effort from him on the pitch

Thats the trouble, because they are bottom of their league with 4 wins from 21 games, and we are unbeaten in 8? and played well last Tuesday some people assume this will be a walk over. I agree with you that this going to be tough. I would be happy with a hard fought, scrappy 1-0 win. If anyone saw the football league highlights you can see that they also someone who strikes a mean dead ball. We have to be careful not to give to many free kicks away around the edge of the box. Here is an interesting Stat (well not that interesting) Walsall have already beaten Exeter and Plymouth this season. Surely they must fancy their chances of a clean sweep of the 3 Devon clubs. That would be a good trivia question; who was the last team to beat all 3 Devon clubs in one season??
