It is FA Cup time with seventh in league 2 versus eighth in the Blue Square Premier! Without a doubt, a tricky away fixture but we are in a lot better place since this draw was made particularly with Mansfield losing 4-1 at home to Crawley at the weekend. Interestingly, their squad resembles ours from last year in that there are an awful lot of loanees going both in and out of the club. Whether this is good or bad, I don't know.  It is never easy playing two away matches in close succession, particularly after a supreme effort against Oxford but for a variety of reasons there has been a degree of squad rotation in the last couple of games and hopefully we can carry on from where we left off on Tuesday. With Macklin out, there could be a place for Danny to return but personally I would rather see Zebroski and Rose on the wings. This does leave the question of who to play up front with Benyon and maybe Kee deserves a start after his maiden goal for us? Surely Wroe and Mansell in midfield again with the same defence that finished the Oxford game. This still leaves a few players on the bench that Bucks can call upon if necessary. Edit: QPR and Wolves have given permission for all the players we have on loan to play this match so no cup tied issues. A reminder, that there are now only three weeks left to enter bbcgulls prediction league cup which will mirror this competition from the third round. The winner will only have to make six predictions so it is not too time consuming and there will be a prize, particularly if the remaining 20 out of 64 places can be filled as stated by Dave on another thread. |

I'm looking forward to going to this match. I think the defence picks itself, and with Wroe trying to put himself in the shop window by playing his socks off, I think he should start. I think the wings should be covered by Rose and Zebs...so on to the attack. Sadly, Gritton is well past his sell by date and should be returned to his parent club (he'll probably play and score a hat-trick  ). So that leaves Benyon and Kee (hopefully that first goal will do wonders) up front. As Rjd mentions, Mansfield are a team of loanees, and as I remember from our experience with a team filled with them...we weren't that successfull. I'm going for a shaky 1:0 win. |

Just been over to a general footbal forum where fans from all clubs chat and apparently Mansfield have got hooligan problems flowing back into the club due to banning orders elapsing. There were several arrests at a Mansfield fans pub and dogs were used, also something about a mini bus incedent. If your going please be careful or at least switched on. I know we have a reputation as a generally non-violent club but when they want it they`ll come and get it whether you want it or not! I`ll try and find the name of the pub so you can stay away from it!

It`s the Wheatshef, apparently these thugs are something to do with Sheffield, they were described as lumps so I would imagine their associating themselves with Mansfield because they can cause trouble there unlike at Sheffield, the ring leader was recognised by some Crawley Town muppets that think their a firm, they don`t wear colours, just chav crap and apparently are easy to spot. I don`t know why the anti-hooligan police don`t monitor these sites because you can get massive amounts of info because little muppets want to spout off like their some big scarey firm lads! It`s embarrasing to read to be honest!

Am looking forward to us taking it a lot more seriously then Rochdale did last night and cruising in to the second round with a 3-0 win. Got to keep these non-league outfits in their place!
Second round I'd like Argyle at home as I think we could do them at the moment having seen them a couple of times this season. May have to draw at Plainmoor and then win the replay at Home Park as Argyle have seemed to freeze in front of their home crowd since the middle of last season.
That tie should attract television interest / revenue as well. Here's hoping! ;D

Always found Mansfield a pleasant ground. Easy access and parking in the side streets. Back to the match - well we could do with the money. After predicting the win on Tuesday night I am on a roll and going for us to follow up at a canter today.
Squad wise we are looking ok and should be in great shape here and even Billy Kee has found his scoring boots.
On paper we look better all over the pitch. With Murray and Tyrone in midfield I really won't be quaking. Murray looks easy on the eye but is best at passing the ball sideways.
I am hoping that Connor isn't fit to play. A hard fought game but am totally confident we will win this one.
