What a wonderful day it was in the bay today, I watched the sun rise over Edenhurst flats from the top of Rock walk this morning and watched it set over Marldon from the same spot this evening. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place.BTW Anyone dissing Rock Walk is clearly missing the bigger picture.
Well in between all this was an extremely entertaining game at Plainmoor.. I cant remember the last time I shouted abuse at a lino .. but I certainly did today, my poor heart was racing about the disallowed Benyon goal, will have to see it on the iplayer as the the league show is past my bed time.
Bury played some great stuff today and they can really move it about at pace and the boy from Man U was a cut above.
I think at the beginning of the season we were playing against poorer teams and now we have been found out.
At times today we played some great stuff too but just didnt get the rub for the finish. I will look forward to seein Zeb's goals which were were superb.
As for Guy ....well he has had 14 clubs to date!!!!! and for me Charnock is better by far.. Guy has looked iffy in the home games and NOT the MAIN MAN that some seem to think he is,
Did we miss Nicky Wroe today ?? mmmm maybe but probabley not, Lets get Damon fit and Oastler into the mix and see what gives.
On a lighter note ... the pre match Pastie was delish.

Scoring 6 in 2 games, losing two 2 goal leads and just picking up 1 point in the process has clearly got to the manager and who can blame him! Isn't it 3 two goal leads we've fecked up let slip? Two against Crewe (2 - 0 & 3 - 1) and one aginst Bury (2 - 0)? ......yep, so it is.

Lets get Damon fit and Oastler into the mix and see what gives. Yes, Oastler an unused sub today and maybe that's down to the necessity of having to use one available sub in defence. Then utilising O'Kane for a whole game as one of the two central midfielders, which is NOT his forte, and I guess the manager felt his tactical hand was a little tied today. I understand Oastler to be a "sitter and ball winning distributor" at best in central midfield just in front of the back men.................ideal to use in a 3-5-1-1 or failing that a 4-1-3-2 and really to make the best of those systems we need a reliable person to hold the ball up front and distribute it to the players coming in behind him. Still a work in progress I think!

Cracking game. Frustrating result. Shocking defending.
Branston had a shocker. You could see on field tensions between him and Ellis after conceeding twice in the first half. Charnock offered a tiny bit more solidity and an excellent first touch lay off wen guesting up front in the dying moments. Robbo was given a chasing all day by the excellent Nicky Ajose (on loan from Man Utd) and our midfield was outfought at times by Damien Mozika. Zebs really shone out as our best player. There are times where he runs with the ball and never looks in control and he scuffs so many shots but today he hit 3 sublime strikes and almost had a trio of equistive goals. Billy Kee impressed me much more than he did at Crewe. He pushed up as a second striker today rather play in the the hole as he did at Gresty Road. Much better from him. Young Eunan played a bit deeper at times today. Without wanting to criticise him too much I hope someone has a word with him in training this week and tells him not try and hit high risk first time passes every time. It might be worth his while just having a couple of touches and then hitting a decent pass.
Disappointing to here that the manager got some stick after the match. I stayed behind and applauded all their efforts. We were a gnat's arse away from winning this game.

i missed the buckle bullying parade, the loonies are still out of the asylum then? what do they want? we average 2500 gates, maybe we should be challenging hereford and barnet for bottom place, that is a more realistic target on our gates. And it wouldnt surprise me one bit to see PB turn this season around again and end up challenging for the play-offs.Its a marathon not a sprint,34 points to go for safety, thats all i think about at present

i cant believe some of whats posted here, I thought we were dire. the game resembled tennis hardly a decent pass all game and the best was sadly from bury, however after we went 4-3 down we started playing football (so we can do it)zebs goals were good but man of the match he wasn't . Regarding the buckle debate if he's so good how come he has turned a decent side into also rans ??
The nicky Wroe thing hmmm personally i'd rather see Okane any day of the week!!
Todays game was a great game to tell kids what NOT to do !
Now we have scored six goals in two games and no striker on the list And worse weve leaked seven goals in two!! I'm sorry i don't buy the 'we nearly won ' line How i wish Buckle would stop telling me how good we are playing and what a great record weve got, we avoided relegation last year thats all !
Oh how I hope all your confidence in Buckle is well placed !
By the way loyal gull Keep the kids under control mate!

Really entertaining game today and the better team won.
Visiting teams seem able to fill and dominate central midfield better than we do, and I am left wondering if this is a problem which is due to tactical deficiencies, or simply lack of fitness.
Despite the fact that we have scored 6 goals in the last 2 games, we are still lacking a specialist goalscorer, and budget restrictions will probably determine that we will end up in a safe mid-table position for the first time for about 15 years.

Before jumping to any drastic conclusions - let's see how the next 3-4 games go. Once again PB has not shirked from making some changes and I hope he continues to do so (despite some of the saddos in other places coming out with their vitriolic diatribe). A great start to the season, bit of a downer after that, who's to say form won't improve as we move towards November?

I didn't think that we played that badly but Bury played very very well (one of the best teams I've seen at Plainmoor and they should be there or there abouts come the end of the season) and coupled with several key incidents saw us lose 4 - 3:
* The needless penalty which Branston gave away.
* The miss by Ellis when we were 2 - 1, within minutes Bury equalised.
* The Stonewall Jackson penalty not awarded to us for the push on Benyon.
* Zebs hitting the post at 3 - 3, Bury race up the pitch and its 4 - 3
Everyone in this League is looking for a provan striker but on crowds of 2500 odd we ain't gonna get someone with the experience of Steve Flack!!

It`s only my opinion of your post but I think it bollox, we have been playing well for the most and Bury were simply better than us today, they didn`t let us pass the ball as much as we would normally do and out scored us. With out more money Bucks can`t change it much and with our gates it`s only the fans that stay away that can be blamed for this, it doesn`t help issues when people have a go at the players and the manager does it, it just upsets people and starts to undermine confidence! Bet people like you think our players are on thousands of pounds a week pay, their not, their here because they know what a cracking little club this can be and they are here to do the best they can for us! All those idiots shouting abuse at Bucks and the players yesterday are doing their upmost to damage the club and should take a long hard look at their behaviour because it is disgusting in my view!

I didn't make it to the match yesterday but agree with that, Simonb. The cost of the departure of Colin Lee, crowds that are probably drawing-in less revenue than the Board were expecting and other revenues being hit hard as well have hit Bucks' budget and consequently the on-pitch fortunes very hard indeed.
I think that one pivotal issue at the moment is the Wroe situation. Bucks obviously valued him and I imagine that he is one of the highest earners on the payroll - basically that is dead money at the moment. Another issue is obviously the failure is the defence - Branston was immense for some time - surely his recent performances are just a blip? At least our defenders are weighing-in with goals and assists.
It is a real shame as we seemed on the verge of a recovery - two very decent performances at Crewe and Shrewsbury and consequently two decent points - but we have failed to win since Port Vale ended our record run back a couple of months ago.
How does Bucks reverse this dismal run? I'm sure it will have to come down to hard work on the training ground rather than any manouvre in the transfer market as things stand. He does have some options though - changing the midfield personnel and perhaps taking the more solid option with Carlisle on the wing as opposed to Stevens. I wasn't expecting much against a decent Bury side, but I do expect something from the Gillingham and Morcambe matches - failure to get at least one win will only increase the concern.

All those idiots shouting abuse at Bucks and the players yesterday are doing their up most to damage the club and should take a long hard look at their behaviour because it is disgusting in my view! How bad was it Aussie? Following a post on here by Simonb, I took a look "elsewhere" and apart from one idiot called Baldy who started a stupid thread; I can't see any what could be termed "abuse" on there. There is no abuse on here either, and it is only natural that there will be displeasure at three successive home defeats................everyone will just have to be "Big Boys" and take that on the chin, because football anywhere has never been any different. People who immediately look to replace a manager at the very suggestion of things not going the team's way are utter morons in my opinion, and it is obvious to all but the fools who DO perpetrate such rapid fire hiring and firing of football managers that long term planning, patient assembling of squads and consistency of support are the only way that clubs truly progress. Form (whether good or bad) is only temporary, whilst professionalism and diligence HAS to be a permanent feature of the way a club is run for it to have even a chance of avoiding relegation and possible financial disaster. Clubs who get relegated are nearly always the ones who keep chopping and changing. I'm sure there are those who delude themselves that a manager has some robotic influence over every kick and header out there on the pitch, when in reality he has only the input he can get across from the technical area regarding making players aware of where the dangers are occurring and making alterations to the shape and pattern of the side to combat this. No manager can prevent mental aberrations by players, mistakes by officials or moments of inspiration from the opposition.Sometimes the well executed and the excellent out number the mistakes and errors, sometimes they don't; and the further down one travels form the absolute summit of the game the more the mistakes and failure of execution chip away at the satisfactory outcome of any well planned and thought out game plan.

I wasn`t on about the forums, I was on about at the ground straight after whistle, the Ref deserved everything he got and more but the manager and players got some very unneccasary stick. I understand that people get frustrated and want to yell stuff but have they ever considered how frustrating it is for the players and manager, they know what went on they were invovled, they don`t need berating when their heads start to drop they need picking up, dusting down and encouragement to do better! Certainly not some of the disgusting things I heard voiced at them! Fair enough if we didn`t turn up or just didn`t look like we cared but it`s the furthest from the truth, it only needs a tweak here and a cool head there and we will be back to beating the best in this division easily, it does my bleedin` head in!
