After three tough away games, October does not get any easier with a home game against fourth placed Bury. They have had some good results recently, winning three out of their last four league games with the last defeat interestingly at Crewe on 11 September with a 3 - 0 reversal. The recent goal drought ended last Saturday and hopefully this can now continue in front of the home fans. Some may argue that Benyon and Kee in a 4-4-2 formation are best placed at home to continue this. In midfield, I don't think Wroe will start despite still being available for selection so O'Kane or Oastler to partner Mansell. On the wing Zebs and Stevens can be great on their day but should look over their shoulders as Macklin scored during mid week. I think the defence will pretty much be the same again. I hope Potter's absence against Bournemouth was not due to injury. Senda is hopefully nearing full fitness and could be another option. A win against a promotion candidate could set us up for a productive season. The weather forecast is good so hopefully a good sized crowd will be there to see a long overdue win.

I hope Potter's absence against Bournemouth was not due to injury. It could be an indication he is being considered to take over in goal from Bevan for one reason or another this Saturday ~ anyone's thoughts?

I don't think our goal drought is over sadly. Our forwards are still failing to hit the target. We got lucky last week with the help of a defender~which isn't going to happen every week! Maybe the Wroe thing has been affecting the players, but now that it's in the open we can up our game. Score: 2:0 Bury!
On the subject of Potter, I can't speak from personal experience but, i'm sure I read somewhere that he's not very vocal and likes to stay on his line...ala Rice. Bevan for me please.

interestingly enough,i dont think has been mentioned anywhere, but bevan was lucky not to be booked at crewe,he jumped in the area to catch the ball, the momentum carried him outside the box still holding the ball for a good two seconds, neither the lino or ref saw it,he was very lucky

I can`t help wondering how well Nicky might play tommorow if selected! The arm band now belongs to Lee so that presure is off and if he really does want to move then he is best playing out of his skin so someone would want him and on the other side of the coin if he`s happy here then to keep his place in the middle he`s got to put in a good shift. There is also the possibility that he might not give a shit and just not make the efforts we know he can but I don`t believe he is like that! He hurts when he`s not selected and just can`t hide his dissapointment, it`s written all over his face, even if it`s because he`s injured, he doesn`t do sitting and watching very well. That`s a good atribute!

Why would he be so dissapointed when not selected if he didn`t give a shit, makes no sense as usual!

Nice day to play football and win, the beer always taste's better (or bitter) if you win!!!! It's nice here too, but I won't be around for the Plainmoor game this afternoon...................I'm off with Anthony shortly for an all afternoon session of coaching and a mini tournament, followed by a chat with some very good football coaches. Proper grass roots stuff!
