:-/After a long hard week, the first XI have got a few days rest but those pressing for a place now have an opportunity to show Bucks that they should be starting!
The team have already had a few training games against Exeter this season but this will be the first one for paying spectators and should be a bit more feisty. With the kick off at a more reasonable time of 19:00 the logistics aren't so bad for those working during the day.
After suffering our first defeat in the league since the end of March, I am sure Buckle isn't about to panic but there is no reason as to why he might feel the need to freshen things up and may look to this match to reconsider his options. For example, with Zebroski now doing well up front, the wingers don't seem to be firing on all cylinders and maybe Macklin deserves a start? He scored a good goal against higher league opposition in pre season and showed last year he can put the ball in the right areas.
The line up should be fairly straight forward apart from the right back position where there is no cover outside of the starting XI.

Will probably bite my lip and go to Sid James Park tomorrow, chance to see our other players have a game.
Macklin is one who im sure will be trying to impress but id also like to see Halpin prove that he can get a game on the left hand side. Havent seen much of Lathrope over more than cameo appearances so will see how he does.
Will do a report wednesday. Anyone else going along?

I can't see many going though, what with the England match on TV. Also, we have had an awful lot of rain up this way today, with more due. St James Park is not renowned for the quality of its pitch so it would be no surprise to see the game cancelled tomorrow, or possibly even moved to the Cat & Fiddle training pitches??

Suspect they'll only open the Flybe stand along the side.

The new pitch is quite stunning... They've also moved it closer to the Big Bank so as to be able to redevelop the away end at some point. There is now a big tarmaced area between the old fence and the new fence there. You could play billiards on that pitch now (Well, if you had a bloody great cue, long arms and deep pockets!)

It will be better than that sh*te away end they have, which would be dire if the weather is anything like it was earlier.

Hope to see you there, Daz, plus tufc01 and one or two of Grecian acquaintances. Squads on the Exeter City official site – experience on both sides but rather more younger players than normal, possibly a reflection on there being JP Trophy games last week.

Danny Senda (former Wycombe and Millwall) on trial and starting at right-back. IMO would be a wonderful addition to the squad if he is over two seasons of agony with knee injuries. For me, a better right back than Robbo any day of the week.

4-0 now, apparently a cracker from Macklin. Hopefully a few players causing Bucks to have a few questions about his team for Saturday - you need this kind of competition even if it is a fairly youthful Exeter side we are playing.

Any win against the Scum is good - hoping one hasn't shot one's bolt by saying this and England winning 1 nil (Rooney).
