Having just watched the FL piece again (paying particular attention to the fried breakfast!) its actually not that bad a meal. It appears to consist of 1 sausage, 1 fried egg, 1 slice of toast, 1 hash brown and baked beans. Having stayed in plenty of H/I's before, the sausages are normally grilled, the Hash browns usually baked and the fried eggs seemingly fried in oil as opposed to fat. It contains protein, carbs and fibre, quite probably without much saturated fat and was eaten around 6 hours before kickoff. Wouldnt eat it every day but probably fine 2 or 3 times a week. I really should get out more

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. How ever did that interminable 'The Breakfast Plate' thread from the Popside Board reincarnate itself on a matchday thread?!!!! You know the rules Stef..... Sumptious fried egg yolk and baked bean juice do not make good bedfellows. I've emailed the club so a "directive" can be issued to the playing staff, the next time they are seen on National TV having a pre match fry up...... Its not been a good w/end.... 100% record goes, unbeaten record goes - and now the club finds itself knee deep in a "Careless breakfast plate...err..gate"

I would hazard a guess for saturday's poor showing, was more to do with spending the night in Basildon rather than the odd fried egg. As this would be enough to scare the bejesus out of the most hardy soul. lol

Also now see that sky sports is saying that Branston could be in trouble for his go at the cameraman, unbelievable. if that is the case, surely southend can be charged with failing to control spectators and photographers? I think you`ll probably find that the photographer either works for Sky or has a mate there. I`ve seen them report stuff like that before that fizzles into nothing, they see it as a way of flexing their muscles, I wouldn`t worry, their relationship with the Premiershite has nothing to do with the F.A. and it is the F.A that has any say over what happened and they are more than likely to come down on Southend and their Photographer than Guy, the fourth official has already said that he is aware that there were things going on that provoked some of the players, like the assistant coach swearing at Guy first before he waved with one finger! You see it is a case of them feeling that they really did a big and good side over and were milking the shit out of it and trying to goad us, just shows what a bunch of toss worthy merchants Southend really are! Just like some of our animals `er I mean fans, it`s not just the younger generation anymore, some of the idiots are actually mid to late fourties!

Ha ! Some great stuff about breakfasts on here .... Very funny from jmgull about the contact between beans and egg, personally I think beans n egg go superb together.
The team have more likely been havin fried brekkys at away games for yonks and as most are finely tuned athletes a brekky once or twice a week is no problem, as long as they are training every day, as most of the team are under the age of 30 its ok.
I have also been aware of the pizzas flying past me near the end of home games for ages, I reckon the players would be lucky to get more than one slice....
ps Best place for breakfast around the bay ... Easy Alf Resco's Dartmouth.

Absolutely not... It needs a black coffee to complete it.
