Got to be happy with that. Home draw but not taking anything for granted.
I don't like the coverage on ITV. I thought it was the FA CUP 1st Round Draw not the bloody Harry Redknapp Show

Got to be happy with that. Home draw but not taking anything for granted. Home draw again which is great. Must be a fairly decent side as they beat R&D yesterday. Paul Buckle will put out his strongest side for this one for sure. Which is a must if you want to meet one of the big-boys further down the track!

Totally agree, weathergull. This tournament is not one to rest players in, not even teams like Chipstead, Evesham etc. I was a little bit nervous after Chipstead scored yesterday, as they were looking good to get another, and we were terrible (in the second half), I thought, apart from the last five minutes!
Rest the players against Weymouth in the Sultana Shield in between the Mansfield and Evesham games, and hope we don't get a replay!!

Should this game go to a replay (heaven forbid!) it will be at Worcester City's St Georges Lane Ground..............who remembers going there for a slog in the mud in the cup a few years ago? Evesham don't yet have a replacement ground for the old one they sold for housing and are still waiting to move into a purpose built new venue on the edge of the little market town. A very good reason in itself for finishing them off at the first opportunity, although I guess it would send Brett's heart racing if he hasn't been there before!

My nephew will be over the moon with this tie, as he lives In Evesham. Steven used to work In a shoe shop In Torquay after school and at weekends. It did not take him long to become a manager, but we went on to be the UK manager Of the company, known to us all as Clarke's Shoes.
He always drove down for every home game In his company car, but I have not heard from him In a while, so don't know If he still does.I went to stay with him and his family at Evesham, a very pretty place with a canal and boats as well.
I was walking alone the canal with Steven and some boys aged about eight years old, came up to us and asked for money, If they ate some maggots that they had In a pot.I could not believe It when one boy put three in his mouth and ate them.
No being a fisherman I asked why they were different colours, some red, some blue etc, he told me different colours to catch different fish. So I pointed to one and asked what fish you would catch with that one. He said they are to catch ROACH, well that was the end Of my chat to those boys, fancy catching my name sake with a red maggot.

Funny really, i was gonna post that they were at Worcester in the FA Cup Numbers but thought it doesnt matter as what are the chances. If it did go to a replay then i'll be there Merse!!!..And to add Worcester leave that ground over the next few years too. Need to go twice then!!! (See i'm a team hopper too!!!)

I went to Evesham's old ground a few years back on a dank, misty night and - taking Merse's point - I don't think there would be too much difference in the levels of mud compared with Worcester City. I'd be tempted to say the Evesham mud would be more fertile and particularly good for growing all sorts of fruit and vegetables - given the area's horticultural reputation - but apparently the old ground was built on a rubbish tip. However, as I recall, it was a good place for trainspotting if that is your bent.
This will be Evesham's first appearance in the First Round Proper and they seem to have done exceptionally well in spite of playing "home" games 10-15 miles away. Half of their gates were under than a hundred last season but they still won their league.

On paper that's an easy tie - but the FA cup is played on grass (but also on a hell of a lot of mud as we also know)!!
We weren't expecting to beat Yeovil so convincingly last season and at some points we looked quite uncomfortable yesterday. We've been beaten by many clubs lower than us in the football pyramid so I'm bracing myself to watch a real battle in which anything can happen.
I read that Worcester City are looking to build a new stadium along the same lines as FGR.

ohtobeatplainmoor, yes we all remember those games, when lower opposition beat us, when on paper It should have been a stroll In the park.
I was not to concerned with the players yesterday, Chipstead looked like a good top local side no more and I felt our players took things easy yesterday.
At times a little to easy and sloppy, giving the ball away due to mis placed passes etc. I really believe we could have stepped up two gears In the match If we needed too. What we must do In the next cup game, is to treat It like a league game and not have the attitude we are playing a much lower team, that we really should beat on paper, grass or mud ;D

A few years ago I remember meeting a tufc fan at a few away games who lives in evesham. Justin Lorum I think his name was. Does anyone know if he is still around. I am fairly sure he used to have a flag with evesham gulls on it.

Remember the flag and also one in the shape of a giant pair of y-fronts.
