Here's a few I took on Sunday from the iconic Brands Hatch circuit just to the south east of London. It held Grand Prix racing until 1985 when Nigel Mansell won the last race. Now it's used for British Touring Cars, British Superbikes, Supertrucks and the German DTM championship. I think it's probably the best circuit in the British Isles as it has lots of dips, hills, corners and a nice forested area. On Sunday it was the turn of the British GT and the Formula 3 Championship. Not quite Wimbledon prices but £20 quid for almost 8 hours motor racing is a very good deal. 1. Lotus Evora GT4 2. A Formula 3 car 3. Brake, brake, brake. 4. Downhill from Druids 5. Sepia Shot 6. Ferrari 430 Scuderia of the Rosso Verde Team 7. A magnificent Ford GT 8. An Audi R8 9. Oh Fuchs! 10. Porsche 997 GT3 of Trackspeed Racing

I've cycled past it several times, as it's only an hour and a bit away from South London by bike. I'd imagine there are very few people who arrive at Brands Hatch on a bicycle however ;D Nigel Mansell...looked and sounded like a suburban Dad. Great driver though apparently

I paid an extra fiver to park inside the circuit opposite the Cooper Straight rather than park for free in the field just to the north of the main grandstand. I think it was worth it. I watched the rain interrupted Formula Ford Race from the comfort of my own car.

Great pics. Just a shame that this year British F3 isn't going to Thruxton, and for most of the summer they're on a tour of European circuits
Love the Lotus there in Gold Leaf colours that the F1 team used before the famous JPS black and gold

Not really. Chris has a camera, an eye for a shot and an interest in photography; I have none of those things!

Yeah, the GT series is going to Spa next. I'm tempted I have to say.

Nigel Mansell was driving it then but got to see Senna's at Birmingham Motorshow (84/85?)

He's still my favourite ever racing driver. I was glad he finally become World champion even though the car was miles better than anything else. He was so close to winning it twice before he had the exploding tyre in Adelaide and the crash at Suzuka. The late charges he used to do kept people watching Grand Prix until the end. I think Spa is up there with the truly great circuits.
