One of the harder autographs to obtain is that of Don Welsh who became a United legend in the mid-1930's despite playing for only a relatively short time at Plainmoor. Sold to Charlton Athletic, and converted from a defender to a forward, he went on to play for England and appear in two FA Cup finals, gaining a winner's medal in one. This shows his signature on a Churchmans cigarette card and is from his time at Charlton, with the picture taken at the Valley.
