With Plymouth's relegation looking like it's 45 minutes away, and our play-off chances looking good, I was wondering :
- Whether there's ever been a time when Plymouth have been in a lower division than both ourselves and Exeter (pretty sure the answer to this is 'no')?
- Whether there's ever been a time in which Plymouth weren't in the highest division of the three clubs (clearly there was a time where all three shared a division, but I think they escaped first)?
Anyone have any more definitive answers?

Anyone have any more definitive answers? Argyle have never been in a lower division than Torquay. Not sure whether Exeter have ever been higher than them, but just us changing positions would make sure they are in the lower league on their own for the first time! ;D

[Argyle have never been in a lower division than Torquay. Not sure whether Exeter have ever been higher than them, but just us changing positions would make sure they are in the lower league on their own for the first time! ;D Funnily enough, I thought of the very same question coming out of Home Park this afternoon. I believe that the confirmation of Exeter being above them next season is the first time Argyle have ever faced being in a lower division than one of their Devon rivals. Like Torquay, Exeter have never been in the second tier of English football. And, when Argyle were in the fourth tier - 1995/96 and 1998/2002 - Torquay and Exeter were there with them. During those five seasons incidently, Argyle were top dog three times, Exeter once and Torquay once in 1999/2000. Overall the movement between divisions for the three clubs has been pretty staggering since 2002. Two divisions between Argyle and Truro? Most remarkable.
