Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on here, but Todd underwent keyhole surgery on his groin injury today. Hope all went well and he is back in training relatively soon.
He'll probably need either a reserve fixture or two or a setanta shield to get him back in to the swing of things after what will be a fairly long lay-off. Whilst others have seized their opportunity in his absence, I am sure he will play a fairly big part in our season again, yet.
Good luck, Toddy.

Yes good luck Mr Todd, hope It heals well and you can soon get into training, I think he will play his part towards the end Of the season, but as you say the others are all doing a fine job at the back.

Even though Robertson wasn't first choice he is doing a great job. I hope that Todd isn't just parachuted back into the team when fit as it will lead to accusations of buckle picking his mates.
selection by merit is a must. Ellis got injured at the wrong time for him and now need to fight for his place as well

I don't think It will be a case Of Bucks picking his mates, yes there was a time It seemed he was guilty Of doing that, but I see no evidence Of It now.
Robertson has surprised Us all and really deserves to keep his place as long as he shows the same form. Todd when he recovers will have to wait and fight for his place just like Ellis, but I think Ellis has the bigger battle On his hands.

robertson didn't surpirse me as he has always had potential. as a centre back he performed well before Bucks came, that is why he got a contract. PB played him out of position last year and then had to exercise a clause in his contract to keep him. Now he is back where he belongs, he is performing well again

I like both defenders:
Todd: Has the experience and talks more and dose seem to have a bit more confidence
Roob: He has potential, he is tall and able to win headers.
Both like to go forward at set-pieces and have scored goals

The question Is Joe who Out Of the two Of them and remembering how well Robertson Is now playing, would you choose as your first choice?
Todd has the experience as you say, but has to be that bit slower and would not maintain his fitness out on the pitch as long as Robertson should be able too.

The defence may also be playing well due to having great confidence in the keeper behind them

I couldnt decide, for the moment I would choose Robertson, but would want to see Toddy in the setanta shield or reserve. I cant choose really.

I think that plays Its part Scott, but I did think Bevan looked just a little shaky On his first match, I also think just winning gives the players so much more confidence and also so much more fight.
They put that extra ounce In to win the ball Or tackle as they want to keep the great feeling that come with winning.
Mind you that might all change On Saturday, we may have Rice In goal ;D

For me Robbo & Woods are the best pairing we have at the back. These to did play together in our final League 2 days. OK there isn't much pace back there and last season I never wanted Steve "Franco Baresi Long Punt Free Kick" Woods back in Yellow again. But I hold my hands up and admit he has looked differnt class back there and bring a cool and calmness to the back line which has help both Robbo and Ellis to do what they do best. Talking and organisation is right up there for Center Halfs and that alone is 50% of the way to keeping a clean sheet As for the no pace well Maldini and Costacurta wern't exactly blessed them selfs. Prehaps we have our own BSP versions. (Too many AC Milan references in there!!!) Anyway Good luck after your surgery Toddy and hope you have to earn your recall to the 1st team. Excactly the way it should be
