The main stand is indeed very strange looking - why would they put those roof supports in front of a cantilever stand? As these are only on one side of the 2 stand structure, maybe the wind tends to blow the rain in on that side.
The extra bit of roof is slightly reminiscent of the old stands at Highbury but must have been built relatively recently.
