I’m not going to try and convince you I understand all that well just what nuclear power is, because I don’t and even after listening to some good descriptions from some experts who talked on the J.Vine show, I’m still not that much wiser.
But one question was asked today on the J.Vine show to a nuclear power expert that did end up getting me very worried. He was asked what could be the worst case scenario if they could not sort out the problems at the stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant.
He did not know and said nobody else does either and that is what I find most frightening. We all know if we put our hand on a hot ring what will happen, cars during the design stage are crashed to see what happens to them so they can be built to be as safe as possible.
Yet these nuclear power plants are built without the real knowledge of what would really happen if they went into meltdown or what ever the correct term is. All I know is it is very dangerous stuff and should we be playing around with it?
I know we are running out of petrol gas and coal, but is this nuclear stuff just far too dangerous and something that really could end the world as we know it? Should we really stop building any more and look for safer ways to get the power we need?

I'm not sure we are running out of oil, gas and coal. We keep finding shedloads of the stuff all over the world. Now the pesky ice has melted from Greenland they think there's another shedload to be got at there!

After reading that Dave you have to ask why we did not go down that road instead on the one we did. It sure sounds a lot safer and certainly could be the answer as far as our future powers needs are concerned. By the way the spell checker wants to change davethegull to faithfully, I wonder if its trying to tell us something.

If I'm reading it right Dave. They used Uranium because it could be turned into weapons whereas Thorium can't be. So it appears our political masters and the powers that control them decided to go for the most expensive and dangerous for us but the most profitable one for them. Why am I not surprised?!
