Some seem to believe we should always have a keeper On the bench, others disagree, lets have your votes and would be great to hear what you voted and why.

I think it depends on the match. If it was a massive, must-win game, then I'd really prefer it if we did have a keeper on the bench. However, as the game at FGR proved, sometimes it's a risk worth taking.
I'm sure PB will start having back-up for Bevan or Poke towards the end of the season.

We already have a keeper on the bench, Ken Veysey(safe hands) Is he or could he be registered? He could provide cover & play in the cups and would be more that competent against Chipstead & probably Weymouth in the Sultana Shield. That would give time for Beavon to recover and extend contract and for Rice to remain at Truro and nobody is cup tied. It would give PB time and wouldn't involve Sills or Hodges as emer cover. Just a thought, maybe controversial but there are probably many keepers out there available for loan and K.V. would obviously have want to do it .

treetopsringwood, I'm sure someone will correct me here, if I have got this wrong, But did Ken Veysey not retire from the game early, due to injuries?
If he did I'm sure he would have received some sort Of pay Off from insurance etc. My understanding Is that you could return to the game, If you got over the injuries, but you would be required to repay the money.
As I say I may be wrong On this, but that Is how I believe It works, so unless he Or the club wanted to repay the money, It Is a non starter. There Is also the question, that If he gave up because Of Injury, what has has changed to now make Him be able to play again.

Am just watching Sheffield Wednesday V Sheffield United on Sky1 and interestingly neither teams have a goal keeper on the bench!! The commentator mentioned a player from either side that would have to play in goal should either keeper get injured during the match!!

Had the opportunity to talk to a league manager about this subject about three years ago. Shan't say who for feel of reprisals lol.
At that time, I say that because I know now it's happened to him again recently, he said he lost he keeper during a match once in nearly ten years of management at lots of different levels.
So I would say no.
