Match report
On a nice sunny afternoon at Homers Heath, Buckland kicked off towards the road end and with the low winter sun shining in the visitors keeper`s eyes.
Tavistock are near the bottom of the league but on their day they will give anybody a good account of themselves.
With Luke Horrocks out injured the gaffer dropped back into the back four. but this limited our attacking options.
Liam Moseley started up front and had 2 good chances but lacked composure and blasted over when well placed.
Buckland pressed forward and should have had a clear cut penalty when L Moseley was dragged back by the defender but the ref who will have better games, gave a free kick outside the box, to the yellows, the offence happened at least a meter inside the box but the referee waved away all the appeals from the players and home supporters, as he took the easy option.
The opening goal came on 36 minutes when a good ball through was crossed by S Gill and m Booth who had the simple task of slotting the ball in from a meter out.
Two minutes later Tavi were equal when a forward ran into the box but he was brought down, this time the man in black pointed to the spot.
James Wannell made a valiant effort to save the spot kick and got his hand to the kick but he could not prevent it going in. 1-1
On 43 minutes a good ball through from D Lewis found S Gill on the edge of the box he then powerfully shot low to the keepers left, and his shot went just inside the post. 2-1
We all thought that it was it for the half, but In the 45 minute The Ref awarded a second penalty this time to the yellows, this was When a forward looked to cross the ball but a defender who could not get out of the way handled the ball, he was only standing about 2 meters away but the ref gave us the penalty.
May be he was making up for his earlier mistake
I personally thought it was not a penalty.
Up steped the gaffer and leading goal scorer A Lynch and he shot high into the net giving the keeper Andy Meads no chance. 3-1 HT
The second half was an even affair with Tavistock having numerous chances but the Buckland rear guard held firm with B Williamson looking after the old man at the back with him.
The clock ran down and the ref brought an end to the proceedings, and the 3points were ours.
