In Argyle's situation it was a case (as Oscar Wilde would have said) of only one thing being worse than going into administration - that being not going into administration.
Argyle slipped the noose yesterday. They were in very real risk of extinction if HMRC had won their case. Although not totally home free, I would reckon they are now more 95% than 50% sure of being able to continue.
HMRC will get the football creditor rule changed sooner or later. It now looks like Argyle might have dodged being the body hung from the lamp-post to discourage others.

I listened to an interview with the official receiver of the club on my way home from yesterdays game. One the one hand he was trying to sound positive he would be able to save the club and on the other hand making it clear just how very difficult its going to be.
He was saying he needs real money and he needs it now, a figure just under three million just to get the club to the end of the season.
Plymouth may have survived for now, but they still are in great danger of folding completely and being no more.

I'm going to unashamedly bump this back up. Did anyone have a look? He would love some feedback
