For the second time in a week the forum has been "knocked off centre" by people posting images that are too wide for the standard page lay out. Would those responsible PLEASE think of others and the fact that it is a pain in the arse having to scroll left and right merely to take in the written posts of other contributors. So would the person responsible THIS time (Ospelgull) PLEASE remove the offending wide image and re-size it before posting again..................otherwise there'll be a general loss of interest in this forum, and we don't want that do we!

Merse as I explained to you, its about your screen resolution. Most people have at least a 17in monitor these days and this should be set to 1024 x 768. Only If you were using a 15 in monitor should it then be set at 800 x 600. I have just changed my setting to 800 x 600 and only then does the photos stretch the forum. I do not think people will lose interest, just because a photo stretches the one thread it is posted on. To those that put up photos and I hope we get many more, you can select the size to upload, by selecting 800 x 600 it will be at a size that will not stretch the forum, for those still in the dark old days and still have their PC set on 800 x 600. If you look at my photo, What Dutch Men Do At Weekends, you will see it is a good size, It was uploaded at 800 x 600. Many thanks Dave R

Ospelgull you can leave your links in place on the thread, go to your photo host and just resize the photos, selecting to replace the original, then when the thread page is refreshed, It will be at the new size.
Many thanks Dave R

having just done some tests, I find that the whole forum has a scroll bar on the bottom, If you set your PC to 800 x 600. The reason for that is the banner on the top Of the forum, that has to be the size it is. Making it smaller would mean it would not fill the page.
I view the forum on many PC's at my customers works and some who have very big screen that are set to 1152 x 864 and a above, the banner does not fill the whole of the page.
I have to try and set things up, to suit the settings on most PC's that members are using, If you have a 17 in monitor or larger, the lowest setting that you should use is 1024 X 768.
Its a case of not being able to suit the needs of everyone, but I'm sure you will understand I have to set things up suitable for most users.

First time someone tells me to have problems with my uploaded photo's?
I'll correct them, no problem.
Imageshack isn't working correctly today. I'll try it again later.

I have no problems with the size they are, even If you make them 800 x 600, the forum will still be stretched If the PC Is set to 800 x 600 by my banner on the top. I will talk with Merse about his resolution again. If any other member has the same problem as Merse please post on here. Many thanks Dave

I do not think people will lose interest, just because a photo stretches the one thread it is posted on. I don't mean to be a pain....................that's what my missus is because when I went to get my tape measure to get my screen size the measure isn't where it's supposed to be - more than likely in her ruddy knicker drawer or somewhere typically"female" like that! Anyway, it's not just this thread that gets stretched for me it's all of the site threads, and there is no intention of "upsetting" anyone - just saying it as it is.................that's me I'm afraid. No, my eye sight isn't as it was - just like the lino who flagged the WHOLE of the Fisher back five off side yesterday just after half time...................now who had forgotten that teams change ends during the interval?

has the new code helped Merse? If you have it set at 800 x600 or even 960 x 600, you will get a scroll bar at the bottom.
All images now too large will be resized by the new code, If it is a large image, it will be clickable to open in a new window to view it full size. I'm sorry there is not much else I can do, as I have to set this up to suit most of the members settings.

I have now re-sized my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 and it all fits - although of course the print size is now too small for my poor old eyes , but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the advice and YOUR assistance!

Merse I have played around changing the size on the forum banner, making it smaller, Is not the answer, please let me know just what size your resolution is set at, we can start from there.

Merse has changed his sceen resolution and Is now having no problems, due to a new code I have put in all large images will be resized by the forum so that they will fit.

Merse has changed his sceen resolution and Is now having no problems, A day of small print has done my head in so it's back to the old format I'm afraid! The bottom scroll bar helps a bit though

The bottom scroll bar helps a bit though I have just put on over large photos as a test and the new code has resized them on the forum, get yourself a nice new LARGE monitor, then your problems will be over.
