It Is sad news that Sean and City Link Builders Ltd, will not be continuing to sponsor our new youth team set up. As I said in another post Sean was really passionate about his involvement with getting the Youth set up, running again, after Bateson got rid Of It.
I really hope a new sponsor can be found quickly, to continue what Sean started, I do feel that It may need to be scaled down somewhat, If It Is to continue. Maybe just have the two oldest groups, who would Offer more In the way Of being able to be on the fringe Of our first team.
The problem Is that money Is tight for many company's and finding a new sponsor is not going to be easy, lets hope one Is found as I know all the fans were really pleased to see the youth set up back. Is there anyone Of them we could sell ;D to fund it for the rest of the season, I'm sure the club will pull out all the stops, to find a way forward.

It is a shame that after they've made such large strides in a small space of time something seems to have gone pear shaped. Fingers crossed for things continuing as they have.
Could be worse we could be Grays...3 sponsors pulling out and players asked to take 50% wage cut or leave in January...thats got to hurt for their die hards.

Nothing has been said that has even suggested that those large strides won't continue, until everything Is sorted out, I'm sure as far as the club Is concerned Its business as usual

Well it is made very clear, by the statement put out by City Link through their legal advisers -that this is not anything to do with any sort of financial problems - which quite honestly would have been far more easier to understand in the current climate - but purely down to a "difficulty with an employee of Torquay United".
In my opinion, it's a great shame and a huge disappointment that this problem - which would appear to be between just two individuals - could not be sorted out between the two of them, without it resulting in CLB pulling the plug on what was supposed to be a three year commitment to youth development at TUFC.
I have no idea what the issues behind this are, only that there seems to be have been some sort of "falling out" but it is disappointing that it has come to this, just a few months into the sponsorship.
On the positive side, it is good to hear Alex Rowe state that the football club are still committed to the youth scheme, and it does appear that it will continue. I think finding a new sponsor may prove difficult in the current economic climate though - and if it ends up that the directors of the football club have to put their hands in their own pockets to keep it going - that money may have to be redirected from the first team playing budget in future months/years in order to sustain it.

Crispygull, If only It was as simple as two people falling out, sadly Its more than that and when all the facts are known then will be the time to make any judgments.
It Is good that the Youth setup will continue and Lets hope the club can find a new sponsor quickly, what we must not do Is judge to quickly ourselves, without know the facts.

if it is a case of being some form of dispute / clash of personalities at the club and the sponsor then I cannot see much more being released from the club. Information hasn't been a regular thing from the club since the takeover last summer, but I've grown used to the situation the club have been very loud and clear in their ACTIONS (backing the team and developing the Plainmoor facilities). I certainly prefer that to ownership that basically became 'rent-a-quote' and seemed to take more interest in the employment of family members!
Anyway, I digress. . . . .It's a shame that the partnership between the club and the sponsors to get the youth set-up has ended. The main concern for me is that the promising start continues and any setbacks are minimal. If both parties would rather this remain behind closed-doors then it's surely better that this is the case and all parties can move-on.. An unwanted public row will do no-one any favours - let alone the most important thing - TUFC.

ohtobeatplainmoor, I think It Is the wish Of every party concerned that TUFC does not suffer as a club over these Issues.
Saying that I'm sure those concerned will want to make sure that they also do not suffer in anyway themselves.
