With all the rain in the past week, this game was in doubt on the Friday, but a dry night and a good forecast the game got the go ahead.
By the time 3.0`clock came the pitch had dried and the Buckland faithfull looked forward to the first game of 2011, and the first home fixture for over a month.
Buckland kicked off towards the road end with the sun shining into the visiting keepers eyes.
Buckland got an early corner in the first minute on the right the defence failed to clear the ball and Mike Booth was at hand to prod the ball home 1-0 an ideal start to the new year.5 minutes later Buckland were awarded a free kick out on the right D, Gaze tok the kick and it looked like it was going to creep inside the post but Boothy got a touch less than a metre out to give a 2-0 lead.
2 more goals from S Revell with 2 good strikes from the edge of the box gave the Bucks a comfortable 4-0 half time lead.
Wadebridge had not troubled the the Buckland defence and the back 4 were to have an easy afternoon.
Buckland started the second half much slower as they new the game was over but 3 sub changes to the line up freshened the game up as these 3 wanted to make an impression to the gaffer.
Booth got his hattrick and Lucas Burgess one of the subs was brought down by the keeper, the ref who had a good game pointed to the spot and up came D Gaze to blast the ball into the net6-0.
Lucas got his name on the score sheet when he fired low into the net giving the keeper no chance and to give a healthy final score of 7-0 win to the Bucks.
This extended their lead at the top of the table to 7 pts. lets hope the yellows can still be there in May and retain the league trophy.
This was a top of the table against Bottom game and i think the bridgers will be relegated at the end of the season as they were the worst team we have played.
My mom m Booth for a well taken hat trick
dissapointing attendance about 90
Sorry no photos as having problems with the camera.
