Another week flies by (or with no football yet again maybe it has dragged? ) and it is time for the first poster of the week in the new year.
With the relatively low crowds and lack of cashflow in recent weeks a most interesting or worrying thread discussing about how this is affecting our club was set up with Dave and Petef in particular making telling contributions. Although both getting votes, it was Pete that won the popular vote and one of his initial posts is outlined below although the whole thread is well worth a read if you haven't yet! Basically, it comes down to that if our club is to be successful, it needs to have a viable business model to maximise income and be financially secure but achieving this is another matter and is why fans always look nervously at any forthcoming transfer windows.
With appalling crowds you do wonder how much longer our consortium can maintain its support. In the short term they are, thankfully ready and willing but it will only take a few more knocks perhaps for one or two to start to have doubts about their commitment to this bottomless pit.
If you were an outsider looking at our club and particularly our gates you would probably suggest that we could only ever sustain non league status with the money that is produced from match income. I keep having to ask myself is this sustainable in the long term and I keep coming up wit the same worrying conclusion.
With plenty of BSP clubs averaging gates far bigger than ours it makes you wonder if the bay deserves a league football club with our paltry crowds.
For the last four years these guys and gals have been totally committed to the cause, no doubt believing that progress and league status would improve gates and increase income but now must be scratching there heads in dismay.
I take my hat off to them all and hope that they love the club more than they love there bank balance.
More than anyone THEY deserve a big cup draw and a financial helping hand. What they have achieved cannot be underestimated and even with the knock backs they still are trying to move the club forwards in any way they can but if the public of South Devon fail to support I do wonder how much longer they will have the will and the resources to continue.

Any supporter who looks hard at the financial position of our club should be very afraid.
