As Jamie has said, we do not know why the changes has been made. I know Sean was very passionate about the Youth team set up and the whole deal was a very large sum Of money.
Times are very hard for anyone connected with the building trade and while we do not know how things have effected Sean's Company, I hope everything Is OK for Sean.
We do not need to start speculating, as Jamie said this matter Is sensitive and we will have to wait to hear the news from the proper channel.
The forum wishes Sean well and as one Of our members, we hope that no matter what happens he continues to use the forum and feels welcome among us.
All the best Sean Dave

Having spoken to him recently, Sean's business is fine, and this is on an unrelated matter to the credit squeeze. A personal thing between him and the club that I am not going to delve into here because it is not the right forum.
But the statement put out by TUFC seems to suggest not all is well with CityLink, and I am not sure that is the right way for them to be going.

Andy when I talked with Sean about the credit crunch and how Is was affecting the building trade, he told me most Of his company's work was government contracts and therefore He would not be effected too much.
The wording On .com, Is giving out the wrong message and maybe they should look at rewording their statement.

What ever the reason I hope that Sean will remain a fan of the club, he has showed over the years, just how much this club means to him, so I hope there Is no ill feelings toward him.

Jon, they state they are taking steps to get the money from City Link, you can read that a few ways and could be taken the wrong way.

I will have to choose my words here and ask that you don't ask me any questions. Firstly please make sure you get the Herald Express tomorrow, there will a story in there about these matters.
The story will not give names Of anyone concerned, mainly due to legal reasons. I will state that City Link Builders are a very sound company and the ending of this sponsorship deal has nothing to do in any way with the health Of the company, which I can assure you Is very healthy.
It may be some time before all the true facts can come out and when they do, you will be shocked and even disappointed how someone may have been treated.
I know some think Sean has some history, but I will put my neck on the line here and say In this case he Is the Innocent victim

I just hope the kids don't suffer. Any action taken has not been done to do any harm to the Kids. They will not suffer any consequences of todays news.

Whatever the reasons behind this development, and as the saying goes there are always two sides to a story ... it is hugely disappointing that this arrangement has barely lasted more than a few months.
The relaunch of the youth team was greeted by all TUFC fans as a massive step forward for the football club and the wider community and to see its main sponsor pull out after just a few months is disappointing to say the least - we can only hope that the football club is able to find other means of keeping it going as to disband the scheme now would be hugely disappojnting for all concerened - especially the group of players who, in all honesty, have performed remarkably well so far, given their ages and the fact that they have been together for such a short space of time.

Yes crispygull you are correct, there are always two sides to any story. The report In the paper tomorrow will only indicated a problem with a person at the club. It will not state who, or at what level that person Is at the club.
It will not give details Of the real problem as I'm sure you would understand, matters are in Legal hands. I will say that one party would have preferred to give the Herald Express more Of the story, simply because It was felt there was nothing to hide, but was advised against It by the legal team.
What ever happens to the Youth setup, I really don't think blame can be laid at the foot of anyone just yet, when the real truth Is able to come out, I would hope that you will see why todays events had needed to happen.

It may be some time before all the true facts can come out and when they do, you will be shocked and even disappointed how someone may have been treated. I would back up Dave's statement and urge all supporters of the club not to make any judgement until they are availed of ALL the facts. I am aware of the situation that has arisen, and I am also aware that the Football club have chosen not to aire it publicly; therefore it would be extremely foolish and imprudent of me to divulge my knowledge of it at this time. Save to say that to my own understanding the sponsor has had no difficulty in meeting his financial undertaking, and therefore in the circumstances as I understand them the statement on .com is rather "naughty" in stating that there "outstanding sums" due to the club. Perhaps the statement would have more gravitas if there were a"signatory" to it, even if it were just worded "the Board of Directors" So is the statement that of the Chairman, the Board; or the Chief Executive? I think if it were accredited to "someone" in particular, then we could begin to form an opinion on the matter...............until more of the facts, together with a frank admission as to what has exactly led to this situation are made public one must ask the question "just why was it deemed necessary to make this particular statement in it's present format at this particular time?"After all, if you want the public to know something you are honour bound to avail them of the facts. So far, the Football Club have made a statement without any facts to back that statement up. They have announced something without illustrating the need for making that statement in the first place and they are undermining their own credibility (whoever "they" are) by effectively making it anonymously.
