I suppose the two New Zealand test matches are a warm up for the Ashes but did anyone else see what has been a classic test match? So many good performances, starting to look good at last!

Yep, hope this gives us momentum. But as twittered or something to TMS it probably means we'll now lose 4-1 rather than being whitewashed lol!

That 1981 test was the first one I watched on the telly - been hooked ever since!

And just after I post, James Anderson makes the breakthrough to capture his 400th test wicket. Well played Sir! Leading English wicket taker and twelfth on the all time list but with Kapil Dev sixth on 434, expect to see him progress on this...

Fascinating interview with Jimmy Anderson at Loughborough during a rain delay. Explaining his grip and how he releases the ball. Demonstrating his in and out- swingers and wobble ball. Hope the Aussies weren't watching!

Congratulations to Cook who is now the leading English run scorer! Apparently, a hundred years or so since England played their most successful Bowler / Batsman combo in the same test!

Anyone up for a wager on the Ashes? I think you boys are favourites but willing to wager a pint of your/my choice!

Anyone up for a wager on the Ashes? I'll take you on in a Chelston-style wager. If Australia wins 11-0 (5 tests + 5 ODIs + 1 2020), then I will buy you curry and beer. Any other outcome, you buy me curry and beer. I'm pinning my hopes on rain at the fifth ODI at Old Trafford in mid September. P.S. Buggar - just remembered you don't like curry.
